It takes some time ... but you can reveg it if you choose.

It looks a little small to have been forced into flowering... is this an autoflower? (It happens!) I don't see any buds, just some of the non-serrated leaves associated with reveg.

So my questions are how did it go into flower so young, and why did it then reveg? What's the lighting schedule look like?

A reveg isn't the end of the world. I do monster cropping reveg sometimes just for the entertainment value... It takes too long to be practical but the number of branches they throw out of revegged buds is insane.
