Help on mother plant and cuttings

Hi, im new to taking cuttings, I have tried in this past with success but just needing some help. Basically when trying to pick a good seed, is it possible to grow the 16 same strain seeds and take a cutting from each one and whichever turned out to be the best in the 16, is it then possible to use that cutting as a mother plant or will it weaken? Thanks

No problems doing that. Cuttings are genetically identical to their mother. Take two just in case one doesn't make it. There is probably a limit to the number of generations, I don't think I would mother a clone of a clone of a clone of a clone, but I'm no expert.

I keep the top of the plant for my mom's
and the bottom part of the plant for clones

after the top of the plant gown in veg
so I change the bottom part for a new mom for clones
and I keep the top for the real Mom....so keep the top for the main mom

even better if you want a seed plant just flower your clones and keep the good seed plant the mom

Right, thanks for the feedback guys. I think I'm gonna run the 16seeds and then take clones off of them all and then let the seeds finish and pick which ones to keep. Thanks again guys, you have all been very helpful.

Another quick question whilst we are here. Do cuttings tend to yeild less than grown from seed? I've only ever grown from seed and tried growing from cuttings once but the yeild was terrible. Thanks again

If the plants are the same size in flower it will by the same+-
@Deforced it's the grower the secret
I see you are starting 16 seeds I think for your first run
don't keep the males and select in the girls 2or3 very nice girls
maybe you will have just 4 girls in 16 seeds maybe 10
first find a nice girl and after if you like to make seeds
you find a nice male in 16 other seeds clone the top of each plant
