I'm about 7 weeks into my flower on my first plant. Buds seem to be getting thicker at a good rate but not seeing any red hairs forming. Just looking for any tips on when to harvest and see if my plant looks normal for this stage. Thanks for any advise!! Strain is Blue Dream not auto-flowering. I have been using organic bloom and cal-mag nutrients during flower and my tent is on the 12-12 light schedule. Tent stays between 68F-76F and around 45% RH.

In a couple weeks those white hairs turn orange and curl inward, then she bulks up a bit til the trichomes turn milky or amber. Get a cheap hand scope, 30x or more. Not bad rookie.

Thanks. I was worried that it was taking too long for the hairs to turn orange but I also know patience is key. I also bought a decent hand scope with 30x a month ago to keep a close eye on them. I really appreciate the help.

She looks like a heavy producer late in flower. Let her go until 70% orange hairs showing, then start eyeballing trichomes. But I have. A feeling looking at them that this pheno/strain wants a longer wait period to harvest. Probably 10 weeks. I bet the majority of bulking comes in hard late. Keep temps and humidity low and keep her starving for nutes.

New grower here.

Plants look good.

I’d say they have a few more weeks ✌️

If you know your Ph keep it in the 6.2-6.7 range so she takes advantage of phosphorus. Phosphorous is weird in that it doesn’t process well at even 6.0 but prevails in 6.2-7.3. It’s the bulking component and if looking for compact buds, higher Ph can help utilize phosphorus. Even if phosphor is available, Ph below 6.0 will hinder the plants ability to process it. Problem is and a contender of phosphorus is that lower temps are desired later in flower for density and trichome and terpene production, but with lower temps, Ph is harder to keep higher (keep soil temps moderate). (At least form my observations so far how temps affect Ph).

Thanks for the advice. I keep checking the Ph right now and I'm usually 6.2 but it's hit 6.5 a few times so I'll keep a close eye on that. I was planning to stop giving it any more nutrients at this point and just let it do its thing for a couple weeks.

If you want to optimize stored nutrients to the end, at least give a rich Phosphorus and Potassium mix. You don’t want Nitrogen, that’s what discolors and lightens the leafs, but you need P and K throughout. This is why Ripen products pack a small punch of P and K and recommend no other nutrients or very little or tappered off on all else but the Ripen. It allows for bulking and sticky icky to produce but forces the plant to suckle Nitrogen from its foliage as it needs it.

Awesome to hear. I'll check them out for sure. The bloom that I have is a 1-4-7 right now. I'll definitely grab something that is just P and K.

Look fantastic! As others have said, patience is the key here. Just gotta wait and then wait some more for her to do her thing.

I'm on day 88 for my GG4 and Golden Leaf (autos) and just about ready I'd say (see my 1st grow thread). With my somewhat limited experience I'd honestly say you have quite a few weeks left at a minimum. And definitely buy that loupe so you can get in close to see those trichs!

I take all my plants to 10 weeks before even looking at trichs, you should try it.
99% of plants arent done at 8 weeks or even 9 weeks.
70 days is a solid time frame imo.
Being this plant is 7 weeks already i bet itll be a 12 weeker.
