i been using the yellow ph tester for a year i just got the blue one the other day . i got some distilled water and some paper cups that would hold 250ml of water i used the ph solution 4.01 6.86 i can get it calibrated to 4.01 but no matter how many times i try it wont calibrate to 6.86 it will flash 6.86 blink and stop and then will say the ph solution is something like 6.79 and then it will not be calibrated for the 4.01 solution when i calibrate for the 4.01 then it is way off on the 6.86
I HAVE SOME red blue and yellow LIQUID PH SOLUTION 4 ,7 AND 10 i would use for the yellow ph tester i never could get it to calibrate to 7 it would all ways flash 6.86 but i been using the yellow tester anyway

You might try using glass containers as the paper cups may be changing the PH of the solution. Do you have a users manual for the tester? Which brand is it?

Make sure you are doing the 6.86 calibration first. I would use glass for this.

Also if it's still acting up do you have storage solution?

Of you do soak it for 24 hrs then try again.

The probes should not dry out. And should be stored in a KCL solution. You can make you own cheap.

For storage solution just buy dry potassium chloride.... mix as much into distilled water as possible until it no longer dissolves and store the lrob upright in it.

I can find my recipe later if ya like but it's easy to find online.

The cheap pH pens (yellow & blue) are not to get wet. ONLY the probe itself may go in the water. If you go past the cap edge, the meter will short and not give correct readings.
I've been thru a couple because of that.
Clean and dry the probe afterwards.
