After many grows in a plain promix bx/lime/perlite, I have continued to experience N deficiencies (usually mild) using organic high grade hydroponic fertilizer. It's especially evident early in flowering after the switch to "bloom" ferts. I now add a 1/2 of a cup of blood meal to my 22 gallon resevour. It dissolves very slowly in the drum and add bits of N over a period of a few weeks. It's heavy and I just let it sit on the bottom and stir it often when I add more warm water to the drum. After a week to 10 days (I water every 3 days)- I start to see my plants slowly green up. It's a little acidic so be aware but it's organic, won't burn and is cheap. After a few weeks I totally clean out the drum and add new meal. I've found I can stop the N around the 4th-5th week of flowering as N requirements deminish...........

Actually, many farmers go 1/2 veg, 1/2 bloom the first 2-3 weeks of flowering but I still find some N deficiencies............ Fish meal is also an easy add for N in early flowering too.
