Here on the East coast, growing wasn't easy and most folks around here are somewhat isolated and not living in the city or urban areas. Growing was VERY hit or miss with no real direction available at all until High Times Magazine came along. Suddenly, this 16 year old kid was learning that there was more to life than lousy mexican weed of the time. Names like Maui Wowie, all of the Mexicans and Colombian strains and prices, as well as actual pictures of grows. To most of us at the time, this was the work f wizards. High Times sort of started the path of growing for myself and others in the area. HID lighting wasn't even around much, LEDs were still years away, and the law liked to make examples out of the dirty long hairs that existed back then.
I know a lot of you aren't old enough to remember or experience this, but has HT helped you over the years? Swamp Fox Herbs, Baby Woodrose Seeds, Lettuce Opium, Phototrons, and of course, big pics of big buds! Let's hear your thoughts and experiences with HT and if it influenced you over the years.

Having grown up around the emerald triangle, HT was a form of entertainment and a good place to see how other people were doing it. But it didnt influence anything as the growing was going on preHT. We were more worried about CAMP and the ongoing war against drugs. No growing out in the open, all our plants had to be able to get moved quickly as all the helios had infrared and heatsinc hi tech crap(early 70s)

When I sold pipes and we advertised in high times it brought in like 20 percent more revenue. It happened to be at the same time that amazon kicked us off so it really made a big difference in keeping us afloat till we could adjust.
Will always have a soft spot for it because of that.

Started growing in the 80's, still to this day I have never looked at a hightimes magazine. I grew up on a farm, so we already grew all kinds of veggies and fruits.

High times got me interested in growing but didn’t really teach me much about it. I never had access to high quality product until the mid 90s. Everything was mexibrick filled with seeds, stems and what appeared to be black chunks of who knows what. Then a buddy of mine gave me some he bought for $60 an eighth and it blew my mind. I sort of started paying more attention to High Times and would dream of one day growing my own. In the late 90s I was out on my own and found the cannabisworld and overgrow forums and learned to grow mostly from the folks who contributed back then and purchased seeds from heavens stairway and cbay and started on my own journey. While HT didn’t teach me to grow it definitely peaked my interest and helped set me on the path I’m on today. Not sure if I should be grateful or angry, haha jk.
