As Designed How do I edit my own posts?

so i have found that in some threads i can edit my posts and some I cant. is this an option the starter of the thread chooses? TIA TECK:)

After 5 minutes (10 if you are premium member), you cannot edit anymore your posts.
This is done to avoid abuse. For example, some users can post some rude remarks and remove them after 30 minutes.

At the bottom of each post you will see the Edit link, next to post date and time.
If you don't see it is because the 5 minutes editing time passed.
