I just started using smart pots for the 1st time & am unsure of watering. Usually I would water until run off then let dry & repeat but between the soil in using which seems to retain water & smart pots they seem to hold water for quite awhile. The bottom stays soaked & top moist & it's been 2 days since I watered. Should I wait till day 3 or so for top to dry out then water till run off again or just water slightly right now? I should mention that I dont have ph tester.

How old are your plants . If starting from seed don't fill whole pot . Just a cycle around the base will do until they can drink more . I've 2,3 gallon S pots but mine are in flower drinking 1-1/2 litres a day . I just wait until first inch or so is dry . Pick them up , get a feel on how heavy they are and water when empty . So the answer to ur question is . Don't water yet .

Plants are at day 30 & that's from being put under light from day they broke surface & shed husk. Using foxfarm Ocean forest soil. Under 250w MH light which puts off some heat but still day 3 no watering & soil on top still damp. Plants not drooping or showing sign of underwatered. Picked up pot to feel weight & feels light but I kinda still wanna wait till top drys out, bottom is still pretty wet. Am I crazy here or should I wait another day, lol.

I would recommend something that is not a solid surface under the plant. In the past I made small pallet type pieces to allow air flow under the pot to prevent this problem
