This was in my hallway, but got replaced. Nothing wrong with it. I rewired it to be a satellite seed/starter/cloning light. She's ugly, but, safe. I don't make temp shite too pretty as no one ever sees it.. I just make it work, and make it safe.

I would imagine that would work. Incandescent light might work better for seed starting though.

I have many... led, fluro, etc. I've never used incandescent though for anything, but, whatever works. ;)
