Hi fellow growers, welcome to my grow,. I've only ever grown in soil and this time I'm trying coco, I've opted for fabric pots as I've read some positive results. Up until today I've grown under a DIY lights with some excellent results but this time I have forked out and purchased a spiderfarmer se3000 led light, it fits perfectly in my 70x70x160 tent and I'm excited to see what the difference will be.. My grow is pretty much climate controlled, 1 x inkbird controlling temp (small 300watt oil rad) and 1 x inkbird controlling humidity (250watt dehumidifier & 25watt humidifier) looking forward to seeing how this grow turns out, up to yet each grow has got better
P.S this is my favourite time of year as outside temps are low meaning I only have to heat up my space and not worry about it getting to hot and trying to cool it down which is alot harder..
Im always trying to improve

Real nice setup bud. But you best pull the light up 30" above the tops of your seedlings.
Keep it up there bud. Don't know about your diy lighting, but this will cook anything you put under it at that range in short order k.
During stretch you might let the plants grow up to about 24" but any closer than that and you will have burning issues.

I just looked at your coco. You need to wash and buffer it.
Check out
Don't forget to come back k.
Welcome to the farm.
Hope you love your new setup. Ron

I have 2 SE3000 & a G3000, nice lights you need distance from your plants as they hardly need any light at this stage. I use t5 fluorescent to veg then flip under the SE's at 60% power about 24" away. I use a cheap lux meter to set distance. Your going to need automation for coco pumping water through them 3-4-5 times per day and then collecting run off. Its not promix

That light looks like a G3000 with the red/orange bar holding clamps and the way the driver is mounted

Yes I understand.. Its the new se-3000 (the new 2023 edition) not the G3000.. I have it turned down to minumum (40watt from the wall).

I would definitely add some perlite to that medium. It looks like its definitely gonna cause some issues as is.

I'm always open to advice, from what I understand perlite isn't a must in coco? Yes it does help with drainage and oxygen but it also increases the watering cycle doesn't it? I'm using canna coco plus and it states on their website that perlite does not give any benefits when added to their medium. I used to use it in soil to fluff e eyghing up and that was great.. I wonder if anyone else here uses coco without the added perlite?

I just like the extra drainage. Makes it a lot easier for me.

Thats what it's about😊 getting it how you feel comfortable, I will try this and if I'm not happy I'll try and improve.. I can handle watering 2 to 3 times a day by hand but anymore and I'll have to invest in something automated... Hence the reason for no perlite.. Hopefully reduce my watering schedule by a little 🤞

Yea thats one of the reasons I run soil. I don't like watering a couple times a day with nutrients in coco. I don't have the time to do so really. My brother has really good results running coco with dry amendments in the medium. He only uses phd water almost all the way thru flower and only has to water every 2 days the way the medium is set up. Ill prob give that a shot next run.

Yes ph is paramount in coco... I've invested in ec/ppm, ph meters and temp gun to hopefully keep all in check.. I'm retired @ (50year old) 🙏 so I have a little free time..i know I'll feel the difference watering in comparison to my previous soil grows but I'll give her a shot and if I'm knackered afterwards due to the constant babysitting then I'll have to rethink.
