I started my first grow on May 20th with four nice little clones. Strains are 1 pineapple kush, 2 exotic cheese, and 1 triple cheese. They were nice and healthy when I got them but didn't have my tent set up for a few days after getting them since I was waiting to get my space cleared for the tent.

The grow tent was set up until the 22nd so for the first few days I had to bring them outside for sunlight and inside at night. Once everything was all set up and ready to go I transplanted into 1-gallon fabric pots and get up the girls in their new home. Next up was to start some LST to maximize my growth. I was really nervous about topping clones due to the different node spacing but after a little, i gave it a try. Set up a trellis a few weeks later for when they flower.

After a few weeks, I was able to get some bigger fabric pots and transferred them into 3-gallon pots. I also added some extra lighting since the first LED just wasn't doing it for me. Started with about 132W actual from the 600W blurple, then added a 300W actual from a 1800W LED with veg and bloom switch. Just going to run both veg and bloom the whole grow to get the most light spectrum. The growth really started showing from there.

Currently at the end of week 5 of veg since getting them, and they're really starting bush out with all the LST. I had some issues over the weekend with this crazy heatwave we've been having and I was away working. When I came back, the bottom leaves lost a lot of colour and they coco coir mix was dry as hell. Luckily with some water and nutes, the bottom leaves started showing nice green color within minutes. I cant wait to see how much they stretch when I flip to flower in a few weeks.

Sorry for so much info in a short time, just created an account a few days ago and wanted to start logging my grow here.

Welcome to the farm.

Some info on coco you may find helpful. It should be treated differently than soil. Instead of going over all this, this link pretty much covers coco.

Little update here, had some issues with nute lockout. PH was sitting at just over 7 (yuck) where i should be sitting around 5.5-6.5. Leaves were turning yellow and dying off fast. Was able to get it under control pretty quickly. Gave them a watering with 5.5 and the soil/coco pH has been coming down, allowing for roots to properly soak up the nutes.

Update:

Last night was officially flip night. Had the lights go off at 9pm instead of midnight and came on at 9am instead of 6am. Dont know if im crazy or not but I swear I can already notice some flower stretch.

Will be keepikg a close eye on the pH to make sure I sont have any more issues. Picking up a bottle of GH calimagic after seeing some brown rust spots on the large fan leaves.

Update:

Noticed a few aphids on one of the plants (ugh, again). Started taking off the heavily infested leaves and sprayed the ladies with some insectisidal soap. Hopefully can get rid of them before they really start to flower. Cant find sny spinosal here in Canada.

Update: Gone all weekend for work and came back to some hella dry coco/soil mix. Need to start looking into an automated watering system but i enjoy hand watering too much. The ladies are all still healthy, besides some nitrogen def from the dry coco. Added a little extra N to this feeding and pumped them with some extra water because they must be thirsty, but......THEY'RE FLOWER STRETCHING BEAUTIFULLY!

Ive noticed the indica pineapple kush seems to need more water than my other 3 sativa cheese strains. Any else notice their indica strains needing more water compared to their sativas?

Update: Still dealing with some aphids, so i decided this would be a good time to trim off some heavily infested leaves and do some minor lollipopping. Removed some lower spots that wouldnt get much light. Shes drooping a bit now but should bounce back in a couple hours.

A good natural predator against aphids is lady bugs. You can release them in your tent and let them go to work. They won’t harm your plants at all, just smoke all the aphids. Plants are looking good, get ready for the stretch.
Happy grows.

Update: About 1 week into flower now, ahpids are under control. Havent seen any today after inspecting them and decided against spraying with insecticidal since the pistils are starting to come in. Gave them a feeding and water today, will most likely give a big one tomorrow since ill be away until sunday evening. Excited to see the progress when I get back.

Update: Week 2 of flower, all looking healthy still. Did notice some aphids so tried taking off some leaves and then picked up some of these bright yellow sticky pads. Says it should attract the aphids with the bright colour and trap them.

Update: Currently sitting at day 17 since flip/flower. Did some nice defoliating earlier this week, and cut off some branches and bud sites that werent going to turn into much. All looking good so far. Pistils coming in nicely, havent had issues with ph since the last hiccup.
PS. Got me a lady bug 🤣

Looking really good. Lady bugs are great. I used to snag them as I would see them outside and put them in my tent. They chomp on aphids.

Update: Finally had enough of these aphids and started reading up as much as i could to find something here in Canada i can use to help. Ended up picking up some Doktor Doom fogger wkth a .4% pyrethrin concentration.

Read up and a lot of people used it through flowering with no issues. Used a quarter of the bottle and had it sit for 2hours with all vents off and then aired it out for 30-45 minutes. The aphids literally died and right off within those 2 hours. Pest problem no more (for now).

Plants are all looking nice and healthy still. Day 28 of flower and the trichomes are starting to really pop out on the sativas.

Update: Been a while since ive posted but the ladies are still doing great. On day 44 of flower and the colas are really starting to fatten up. Had a minor issue with some nute burn that i thought was mag deficiency. Picked up some Calimagic and used some for a feed and the burn only got worse. Thats when I realized what it was and toned down the nutes a bit. All plants are looking healthy and smelling dank.

Update: oh boys we might have a problem. Ended up leaving my tent open yesterday before leaving for work. Night cycle started and it was opened the entire time, got home this morning and noticed. Might be saved as my tent is in a shed and i dont think any light was able to penetrate this morning.
Bonus trichome picture :)
