I didn't read the article, but I am all about trying to grow on less power indoors..I even added solar to the house because socal Edison and 600 dollar electric bills.
I live in the desert, and this winter, I run the lights at night and off during the day so I don't need to run heaters 24/7.
I have insulated the room, I run led lights, and I use low voltage fans etc whenever I can.
Next grow, I'm switching to kind of a modified dwc that incorporates micro-sprayers and a timer so the water pump will run 15 minutes on, 45 off. Same method and schedule as my cloner and should save a bit over pumping 24/7...
I'd love to hear some other tips and tricks that you all use to save money and improve the grows!
