Bud porn time..................2 plants, one on each side of the room are definitely further along than the rest and I expect will be done around day 60, which is next Monday. I had both plants under the magnifying glass and I'm seeing 99% cloudy, with just a slight hint of the beginning turn to amber. These two will be cut first, than I'll wait another 10 days to trim everything else- except the 3 plants that are far behind the rest. Click on the pic's and use the magnifier for some intense resin coverage.
I also spent some time picking off some of the larger sun leaves here and there, as it will make trimming easier in the end and the plants don't really need them at this point. Also, in the top pic, check the little bud on the bottom left.

Still not fully decided.. watching this thread and few others. I am thinking about running my two 1800w cob lights through veg... then kick them over to the bloom setting for a couple weeks into flower..then turning on the 315w CMH (which hangs in the middle) to finish them off.. I'm still building this out at this point.. Got the tent up and the lights came in today.. still waiting for pots and seeds.they should be here by Friday..
Will the cmh interfer with the cobs as i gather the cmh will b at a different height ..

I was bored tonight, so for a couple of hours I put on some music and did searches on the Turkish Cookies...........I was already sure the buzz was very strong- I wanted to know more about how the plant grew and any particularities it had. This is what I found out:

1. Loads of pheno's.......short, tall, wide, and branchy.- all over the place. It makes for a tougher grow.

2. Very leafy strain (which may not be a bad thing as I get better with defoliating)

3. High producer with certain pheno's showing concrete hard buds

4. A little temperamental to grow, not for beginners

5. Poor germination of seeds from Dr. GreenThumb and terrible customer service......loads of people HATE this guy

6. Most pheno's will grow tall if you let them (pinch should happen between the 4th and 5th node)

7. There's an occasional pheno that everyone throws in the trash............ a sorry ass straggler

8. You'll need plant support (but I thought the same with the Orange Gasm)

I'm seriously thinking about pinching earlier to develop 4 main branches on each plant. I'm also thinking about growing them short again- keep the light way down low. Growing like this is so much easier than having tall or different height plants to deal with. Again, the final weight of the room this time will determine whether to stay in this direction or grow bigger, taller plants with higher lights. And is additonal CO2 needed?

I think its the best way to tip them as your in control more than waiting to see what happens later .its like doing your shopping early to avoid the rush 😃..id like to see you go another week if your room was bigger i reckon theyd b huge and smash your record....Sounds like you will have to get a heap of seedlings up sshz and pick the ones you know will grow well and find ol straggly .id say miss straggly will b easy to find early on.all legs and no lateral growth..

I admire you don't step away from a challenge or a plant because it's a finicky grow, I need to work on that myself, and realize that just because a plant poses some challenges, it still presents an opportunity to do something a little more challenging. That's why I like trying different techniques also.

I'm hoping I get 24 plants out of 33 seeds.........If not, I'll keep the nicest 12 and do something else on the other side............
nothing like sowing a few extra to cherry pick among the progeny, I think popping twice the number of seed can pay off in the long run.

So many times from the banks I get duds that don't want to do as advertised. One will be a monster, the next a runt. These plants were all popped at the same time.

The pinching technique at node five is what I am trying to employ. Bit touchy for my newb ass but I will try it again with at least a couple of my plants this round. I think I just need to make a judgement call on branchiness. For instance, sweet zombie might not do as well with pinching?

Sweet Zombie grows slow in veg, so topping it will extend the period even longer..........

Right, so probably just leave her be then. Four weeks from seed, I feel like I would need to be flying to want to slow her down at all.

I believe topping would affect it more than say tipping the plant or pinching .i blewout abit when i first joined 3 years ago and had never seen topping like that.thought it was abit extreme ..you cruel bastards i thought 😂😂😂..like how you mainline.grow 5 nodes then chop it back ..i could not do that lol..

Yeah, I felt super weird when I first saw an outdoor grower do a hard top, removing the top 1-2 ft of the plant, then pour water down the plant’s open neck.

A proven gummie recipe....... these are very potent so go slow initially

Ingredients and supplies...........

1. 1 metal bowl and pot to use as a double boiler
2. silicone candy molds (one batch can make 30-45 gummies so have enough)
3. about 10-12 oz of coconut oil
4. 2-3 oz of well dried and cleaned pot (buds, shake, trimmings)
5. 1/2 cup of water
6. 1/3 cup of infused coconut oil
7. 1 large box of jello (not sugar free)
8. 1 box of Gelatin (4 packets in a box)

Easy, peazy............. melt the coconut oil in the double boiler, then add pot to oil and stir often. Make sure metal pot on burner does not run out of boiling water, just keep adding it when low. Stir mixture occasionally, let it slowly cook for 3-4 hours, the longer the better. All the resin will melt into the oil, turning it green. When done, strain pot and save oil to use in above recipe. Keep the extra in the fridge and it will stay fresh for up to a year.

Then, add 1/2 cup of water to jello and boil for around 3 minutes, keep stirring it. Add gelatin packets to mix (I melt them first with a little hot water, then add to boiling jello). Reduce heat to just above medium and stir for another 1-2 minutes. Then add the infused oil, stirring really well for another 1-2 minutes. It's important to make sure oil is incorporated well into the mix or it will separate from the jello in the molds. The jello will start to turn a darker color, that's when I know it's done and ready to pour into molds. In a few minutes they will start to harden, then put in the fridge for an hour or two. When rubbery, I remove them from the molds and put in a container which stays in the fridge.

Careful as the jello and oil mix is burning hot when pouring into the molds. When eaten, it will take about 30-45 minutes for full effects to hit depending on how much you have in your stomach. You can also melt a gummie in a cup of tea and drink it instead.

If you get too high, eating a little snack seems to bring me back to earth, but expect a full on body slam and sleep not long after. Any questions, just ask.

Thank you. My wife and I will add this to our recipe app. Will report back in not long at all!

Personally, I like to use a mix of strains when I make them, but it's not necessary. Indica's will lead to a serious body hit, heavy eyes and sleep. Using sativa's will initially lead to an heady and up buzz, but the body hit isn't far off. I warn everyone, just go slow initially til you know what to expect. I've had people freak on me, others just pass out. I wouldn't smoke if I'm doing them, as it just intensifies the high to outer- limit proportions. The first time or two you may mess up a little, but I promise after a time or two you'll get it down pat. The real key is to learn the proper finished consistency of the mix. If you over cook it, you won't get enough gummies and if you don't cook it long enough, the gummies will be weak and you'll need two. You can add a little more water if necessary if the mix gets too thick or cook it a bit longer at lower temps to cook it longer- everything is an approximation.

Sounds right up our alley. My wife and I cook a whole lot together. If I can't sort out the consistency perfectly, she has an awesome feel for that kind of thing (essentially reductions).

Thank you again very much. I do think we will try a couple different blends shortly and that will ramp up as I get better at growing. I'll do harvests purely for edibles in the future if it's working.
