I know a bit about electronics.
Enough to wonder why it seems so hard to figure out their descriptions.

3-Up Royal-Blue Cree XP-E

3-Up Royal-Blue Cree XP-E Features:
1050mW @ 350mA
1000mA - Max Drive Current
9.4Vf - Typ. Forward Voltage @ 350mA
450-460nm - Wavelength
Lambertian Radiation Pattern
Cree Part# XPEROY-L1-0000-00901

This thing looks so simple, but wait... is that three LEDs, and does that 1.05Watt refer to the set total, and isn't that small in the 3Watt LED world?

Anybody able to help me understand these things please have a try.

If you look, the max drive current would be 1000ma. The specs are given at a drive current of 350ma, which is ~1/3 of 1000ma, and 1/3 of 3 watts is 1 watt. The diode/s is still a 3w, but it would be inefficient to run it at 1000ma to get the 3w out of it due to higher heat output, shorter life span, and other factors. Hope that helps a bit
