Howdy farmers! I am going to give this another try and can hopefully get to the finish line this time. Grow #2 was going great until I had to leave for a work trip for 4 days....when I got home I found that one of my "Fortune Cooki X Dosido" freebie seeds/plants hermed and ended up jizzing all over the other three plants in the tent... I painfully got rid of all of them and started preparing for attempt #3..

I am running Humboldt "Blueberry Muffin" seeds this time. Plan is to grow out 4 plants in 5 gallon fabric pots.

Tent = 39x39x72
ACI 4" fan (installed outside of the tent)and 69Pro controller, two oscillating fans and an ACI humidifier.
(I am not running a carbon filter - tent is exhausted directly outside of the house via a dryer vent hood that I installed that exits near the 2nd story roof line. I am really curious as to how this will work with controlling the odor inside of the house during late flower. We are rural so I don't need to worry about "that smell" but I don't want a green cloud of stank covering the outside of the house, either... LOL) Hopefully I will get to thoroughly test it all out with this grow.

Light = Spider Farmer SE5000 The light is installed at the top of the tent and I have 65.5" from the floor to the light.

Of course my first two grows were with FFHF soil and feeding the FF Trio + Cal Mag.....so this time I am doing something completely different. I am trying ProMix and Gaia Green for this run.

I prepared the soil two weeks ago. I used 1 20.87 gallon bag of ProMix HP, 1 bag of Wiggle Worm castings and I added about 3 additional gallon scoops of perlite. I am roughly going to follow the "Shaded" recipe. I amended the soil at a rate of 3 Tbsp of Gaia per gallon and for this initial run I calculated the amounts based on 20 gallons of promix, so it was a total of 60 Tbsp. I split this 70% All Purpose and 30% Power Bloom. (42 Tbsp of AP and 18 Tbsp of PB). I will also be adding mykos, epsom, gypsum and possibly some other organic ingredients, but that is that start.

I soaked the first 4 of the Humboldt Blueberry Muffin seeds on the evening of February 26th. All four of the seeds had started to open by the following evening, so I planted them into solo cups filled with FFHF soil, since my promix was not yet "cooked".

I labeled each of the plants in the order that they sprouted. #1 popped out of the soil first mid-day on 3/1 and #2 was a few hours behind. #3 popped out of the ground on 3/2 but only had one cotyledon leaf and the first set of leaves were all mangled...I did not have much hope for her. #4 never sprouted, so on 3/5 I soaked and planted another seed and the "re-run" of #4 emerged on 3/8 and she has been catching up ever since.

All four of the girls were moved to 1 gallon fabric pots on 3/15. It was a little early, but I wanted to get them moved and it went OK but the good news is that none of the plants showed any negative reaction at all from the transplant. The 1 gal pots are filled with FFHF plus additional perlite because I wanted to make sure that my Promix had at least 4 weeks to sit before trying it out.

I am doing my best to treat these girls with care, be on point with watering and keep the environment in the tent as ideal as possible. Going for as low stress as possible. I will probably just top once and do some LST and once they are established in their final 5 gallon pots, I will hopefully be able to take a few cuts and then flip them to flower.

I will update as things happen so I can document and use the info as a resource. If any of you see me doing something dumb (quite common) please let me know!

Here is a pic of my girls as of this evening. (The right front plant is the one that is a week behind the other three) Thanks for checking it out, and happy growing.

I have a couple of updates for this week.

The three cuts that I took from my Deathstar finally rooted and they got moved from the solos to the 1 gallon pots on Thursday and they are just starting to take off. That is the cut from my first grow and I didn't want to lose her before trying again.

The 4 Blueberry Muffins are doing great. Plants 1,2 & 3 got topped today. I decided to top above the 6th node for these plants and go for an even canopy. Plant 4 will probably be topped tomorrow or Monday - she is the seed planted a week behind the other three, so I need a little more growth to avoid damaging any branches when I cut.

I also top dressed today and then watered. They all got 2 Tbsp of AP and 1 Tbsp of PB along with some worm castings. I also added a Tbsp of rock dust. I am planning to let them ride for a couple of weeks in the 1 gallon pots.

I am wondering if I should just stick with the Happy Frog soil for this grow? I planted the seeds in HP and then up potted to the 1 gallons with HF because my Promix was only 2 weeks old. When I up pot to the 5 or 7 gallon pots, would it be smart to just stick with the HF? I started to wonder if the 1 gallon clump of HF soil then being surrounded by Promix might become a problem?

The SE5000 is running at 30% and the plants seem to be loving it.

Thanks! I am really going to try to not eff it up this time! LOL Another observation..... after top dressing with the Gaia yesterday, when I walked into the grow room this morning I was hit with a familiar smell, but it took me a minute to figure it out. My grow room now smells like a bait shop! LOL

Time for the weekly update.

I ended up turning the light back down to 20% last Sunday evening. I was noticing that the plants were drooping a couple of hours before lights out, so I turned it down to 20% to see what would happen. Monday evening the fans were flat all the way to lights out and have been all week. I might turn it up to 25% tomorrow but will need to do that manually since the ACI app only does increments of 10.

The four blueberry girls got watered on Friday morning, all four pots were really light so they got watered over the course of an hour or so and watered just to a little runoff and seem to be enjoying life.

I did trim the lower fan leaves mid week....they were all huge and the branches were getting completely blocked out so each plant got the fans from their bottom two sets of branches nipped off. I think that was Tuesday evening and I left them alone after that and saw a bump in the branch development. Could have totally been a timing coincidence, but nothing seemed to slow them down any.

Since I am using RO water, I will be adding a TSBP of Gypsum and a TSBP of Epsom to each pot before watering next time they are ready.

I am assuming that just adding cal-mag to my water like I used to is a bad idea using organic nutrients? If it's ok to use, that would be nice as I am just worried about giving too much or too little and screwing it all up... I was not sure if cal-mag added to the water would/could mess up the organic feeding mechanism for the plants?

I decided to just stick with Happy Frog soil for this entire grow - one less variable. I have also decided that instead of going to 5 gallon bags, I am going to try 7 gallon bags. The for of them will fit nicely and really fill out my 39x39 tent, or so I hope.

Here are a couple of update pics for this week...

Side profile of the 4 Humboldt Blueberry Muffins... All four plants are growing very similar to each other, so that's nice!

Time for the weekly update and we have some changes this time!

On Wednesday evening, I clipped the bottom set of branches from each of the Blueberry Muffin plants and cut clones out of them, so I now have 8 cuts that I hope will take root. If they take, I will throw one or two outside in June to see what happens. The remainder will either be a mother (if I find a keeper) or given away - I've got some friends that are excited to give it a try.

On Friday evening I decided it was time to move the girls to their 7 gallon pots. The transplants went pretty well and I didn't see any drooping or anything. They are in ACI 7 gal fabric pots with FFHF soil with added perlite. I did dust the hole in Mykos as well as the root ball. I had also "pre-moistened" the soil a week an a half ago. Once they were in place I did give them a light water to help get them seated in their new homes. I did add a TBSP of Epsom and Gypsum to the soil before I watered.

I also started the LST with the training clips on Saturday. So far so good and I have not broken any branches or cause any unnecessary stresses, that I am aware of. I am just trying to even out the canopy. Now that I have 5 nodes of branches growing nicely and the clips in place, she is hopefully gonna started spreading out.

I have also been bumping the light up and down between 20% and 30% with the app. They seem to be doing well so tomorrow might be a full day of 30% light from the SE5000.

I also top dressed the Deathstar clones in their 1 gallon pots....they are growing REALLY fast now, so they got some training clips this morning too!

Here is a shot from Friday evening before the transplant from 1 gal to 7 gal fabric pots.

BBM should be a good smoke. I've gone through a couple half ounce jars of it grown by the folks up at Eighth Brother Farm. Nice dome, do it the same way with the same kind of water jug. Cut the bottom out and then you have a screw top for tapering off the humidity.

Time for the weekly update and happy Easter and happy 420 day errybody!!!

There is really not much to report on this week. The 4 BBM's seem to have enjoyed their 1st week in the 7 gallon fabric pots. I did some trimming of the scrub growth in the middle and bottom of the plant and added some additional training clips.

So far I am pretty happy with how they are turning out, each BBM has 10 main branches and I am pleased that all 4 plants from seed are all pretty identical to each other as far as how they are growing, so I am am hoping to end up with a nice even canopy!

The SE5000 is still putting along at 30% and the light is 42" from the top of the canopy. Temps have been staying in the high 70's to a high of 81 degrees during lights on and right around 70 at night/lights off. The ACI T3 humidifier is helping me to keep the VPD in range as well.

The deathstar clones are blowing up and loving life as well. Those three got watered this morning.

The BBM cuttings that I took on 4/9 dont have any roots showing yet, but they re still green - I am keeping them under my water bottle domes and I added a washcloth on each bottle to add some shade/relief - hopefully we see some roots soon!

Another quick update for today. After work, I went up to check on the girls and saw that of the 8 Blueberry Muffin cuttings that I took on 4/9, 5 of them have already rooted, so I got those 5 into their clear cups inside of solo cups with FFHF, a little extra perlite and some mykos. Hopefully the other three take root, but I am happy as heck, assuming that they continue to survive.

I also forgot to add that in an effort to take some pressure off of myself, I took a trip to the dispensary last weekend to stock up....that way if I eff this run up too, I will have some waiting on me....just in case! ;-)

I am also looking forward to up-potting my three deathstar clones. I have them in the new(ish) Vivosun 1 gallon fabric pots. They have a velcro connection that you can take apart and in theory anyway, make up potting easier. I will probably do that this week sometime and I will report back.

Here is a quick pic of the rooted cuttings (By rooted, I mean that roots were sticking out of the "Rapid Rooter" plugs)

And here is a quick update photo for the BBM's. So far I am really happy with how they are shaped (with some coaching) and I am excited to see if I can get these girls to the finish line! Their smell in veg is interesting. Does not smell like weed, more like coco mix or something. LOL

Sunday update time!

It has been a pretty smooth week this week and nothing stressful with the plants!

All 8 of the Blueberry Muffin cuttings have rooted and I moved the last two into their solo cups this morning. The other 6 are building a nice root system already. Loving the clear solo cup inside of another solo cup idea that I learned here. It's so cool be be able to watch the roots grow!

The three Deathstar cuttings got moved out of their 1 gallon vivosun fabric pots and into 5 gallon fabric pots this morning. The new pots are filled with FFHF and added a good bit of perlite to the mix. I sprinkled in some Mykos around the root ball and then watered them in.

***EDIT*** I forgot to add my thoughts on the new Vivosun 1 gallon fabric pots with the velcro side "zipper". They worked really well when I did the up-potting this morning. Just undo the velcro....peel the pot down the sides and the little bit of spillage from the root ball that I did have, went right into the new pot. Was nice and easy and I am not seeing any stress reaction from the plants yet! ****

The four Blueberry Muffin girls are doing well and I think that I've finished up the last of the branch tying down on Thursday of this past week. They are responding well and I am really happy with how even the canopy is so far!

I still have the SE5000 light humming along at 30% and they seem happy. I feel like I should turn it up, but the internode spacing on these girls is really tight already.... I am going to watch how they respond this week since they will be left alone, other than watering, which I expect to need to do in the next day or two. They last got watered last Friday, but the 7 gallon pots are new, but they still feel a little heavy and they are not drooping at all at night time....so I am gonna wait a bit.

Also for the BBM's.... They got up potted to their 7 gallon bags on 4/11, so I am just at the beginning of week three in their final pots. I will need to do some more reading up, but I expect to be top dressing with Gaia Green either this Friday or the following Friday. I am watching their color and so far so good, and most I've read is that 3 to 4 weeks after transplant is time to top dress. I am still deciding if I am going to do 3 TBSP/Gallon or 2 TBSP/Gallon when I top dress, and the ratio of AP to PB in the mix, since I will be flipping to flower soon, I will need to time the feedings and the mix appropriately.....this my first grow with the Gaia Green, so I am pretty unsure of what I am doing at this point, but so far I don't think the girls have noticed that I am freaking clueless!

I did also take 4 cuttings from the Deathstar clones this morning. I am wanting to do my next run with 4 Deathstar, just like I am currently doing with the BBM's. Since the Deathstar was my first plant and I didn't get it ALL the way to the end, it's kind of become a personal mission of mine to complete a run of that strain.

Anyway, thanks for taking a look and here are some pics!

All is going well in the tents!

The 4 BBM's finally got watered today (5/1). They got their first full saturation on 4/18, so it was a day shy of two weeks since they have been watered. I stopped my self several times over the past few days.....I was just dying to do SOMETHING to the plants, but I let common sense tell me to leave them alone. Hopefully to roots branched out nicely and she is ready to flower soon!

I weighed each of the pots and the 7 gallon AC Infinity cloth pots filled with FFHF soil and they were 17 or 17.5 pounds before being watered. Each plant got 1 gallon of RO water over a period of 3 hours.. I did add a 2.5ml of ArmorSi and 3ml cal-mag. Just trying to balance out the RO water. after sitting for a couple of hours, each tray had about a cup of runoff, so that should hopefully get em revved up. The weight after watering was 25 and 25.5 pounds. (weighed with a bathroom scale, so I have no idea if it is accurate, but it's a least a baseline)

Sunday update time, happy May 4th!

All I can say is that my 4 blueberry ladies are getting their freak on!!! They have really blown up since they got watered on Thursday! (edit - I did scratch in some worm castings before watering)

I will be top dressing with Gaia on the next watering. I need to figure out the timing and the ratio of when to put them into flower and the % of AP vs PB to dress with and make sure I still have plenty of the AP to support the first 3 weeks/stretch . But that will give me some reading to do over the next couple of days.

I will say that these BBM's are my 3rd plants and they are by far the "healthiest" looking plants than I've grown. The Deathstar clones in the other tent are growing like I've never seen that plant grow. The only knock that I have on the Gaia so far is that it smells like hot baitshop when you top dress and water it in... Thankfully the stank only sticks around for a few days though.

The plants have an interesting smell too....I can "see" the whole blueberry muffin thing, but to me it's something different. I don't know what though and it's making me crazy! LOL It smells sweet/sour and musky maybe? Meh, fuck it....they smell like blueberry muffins... in veg anyway!

All 8 of the BBM cuttings that I took are rooted. 6 of the 8 are well established and thriving. There are two that are lagging behind, but both are my fault...lol. If they are doing well this weekend, they will go to friends - otherwise they will get culled. I am a dumbass and didn't label which plant any of the clones were cut from. Plant #1 was the 1st seed to pop and has had the most vigorous growth the whole way through. She Thiiiiccc !!! I am going to take some more cuttings when I defoliate and trim, but this time I will label them, that way I can pick the best of the four based on the whole grow, and then try a run with clones. But plant #1 has my attention for sure. She is a looker! 😍

So from the veg tent, I am only planning on keeping one of my deathstar (mother plant) and probably a couple of the BBM clones - i will throw them outside in a few weeks and see what mother nature can do with em!

Here are the Sunday update pics!

Feeding update. I am basically following "Shaded's method" that is posted here using Gaia Green amendments.

3 TBSP/Gallon
50/50 AP/PB

I am in 7 gallon fabric pots and I know that 3 TBSP/gallon is right at the max - so I decided to feed like they are in 5 gallon pots. So that would be 15 TBSP per plant. I just rounded up to 16 TBSP since 8 is 1/2 cup - it's easier to measure out.

I added some worm castings and about 2 cups of FFHF and mixed them all up in individual gallon ziplocks, then dumped them into the pots. It worked really well and the soil and WC cut down on the dust. I worked it into the soil and just wet the top to keep it from drying out too bad overnight. I will be watering in the morning.

I also did some defoliating to clean up the bottoms and centers of the plants to hopefully focus their attention on the viable branches. Right now my plan is to flip them to 12/12 next Wednesday, but I will see how they act this week. I have no idea if this strain stretches a lot or not, see conflicting info online. As tight as the node spacing is on these, especially given that the light is still running at 30%, I am guessing that they are not going to stretch a ton....but we shall see. If they do, it's gonna be a mess in there....

Speaking of a mess - my veg tent is about stuffed. I wanted to transplant the 6 BBM clones that I cut (I culled the two that were lagging behind) into the 1 gallon bags, but I don't have enough floor space yet to fit them all.... Two of the three deathstar and at least three of the BBM's are being given away this weekend. that will free up the space I need.

I will admit that I keep eyeballing that fancy new SpiderFarmer white tent.....but I already made this way bigger than I wanted it to be, and for some reason I have a really hard time culling plants...

I'll report back with a progress update next week.

Here they are after defol and top dressing, waiting for their drink in the morning!

Sunday update time! Happy Mothers Day to all of you mothers out there!

We ended the week without much excitement. The 4 Blueberry Muffin plants reacted great to their last water/top dressing and they seem to be thriving. I gave away 8 plants yesterday to friends - 6 BBM cuts that were doing awesome - (each one had 6 nodes already) and then I gave away two of my deathstar plants that were in 5 gallon pots. They were all quite happy and I was happy to give my first plants away!

This created the space I needed in my veg tent, and I think that I have my plan.

My remaining deathstar plant will be transitioned to my first outdoor plant. I took four cuttings from this plant while doing a little canopy clean-up, as I really want to complete an indoor run after I flower the BBM's.

I also took cuts from each of the 4 BBM's and I will veg them until the current run is completed. I wanted to make sure that I had cuts of each of them in case I had a great pheno or something. I don't know what I am doing or looking for, but it sounded like an excuse to make more clones.

I am going to start to make adjustments to the lighting schedule this week and push them to flower. As we sit this morning I have 37" from the top of the canopy to the light. I guess I am about to find out how much these girls are gonna stretch their legs here in a bit...

Here are some updated pic, I am really happy with how this grow is progressing so far!

Late to the party but thanks for the zipper bag review. I have never repotted a hehe Pot plant due to reading a few diaries where that was not optimal. This looks like it would work and I think it would help with my 2nd week development. Right into 5 gal from tap roots limits your responses to various stuff that can happen young.
