Lower humidity for drying cabinet

I’m currently running my drying cabinet empty to get it dialled in ready for when I harvest soon.

I’m trying to lower the humidity and temps to 60/60. I can get temps to 60 but at that temp humidity is about 70% and I’m guessing when I add the bud that humidity will go up because of the moisture in it.

The cabinet is vented into the main growing cabinet via passive means so has negative pressure to stop the smell escaping.

I already have a small dehumidifier in there and a fan circulating air.

I was wonder if adding a large bovida pack at say 58% would work or not due to the constant air exchange? Has anyone successfully done this?

Shameless bump with a couple of pics before I potentially waste £30 on something that may not work.

Thinking of sticking it to the back above the hygrometer. Any ideas?

Hmmm i like the idea of the drier pack thing but I dont know if would do anything being the air is constantly changing like you stated. You can creat a bit of a pressure between your fans to creat a lower humidity environment, I dont know the science behind it. I was just recommend at one point to try it as I was fighting the humidity, it does lower your nudity a bit. (Intake fan set to slightly lower speed than your exhaust fan)

I think you already got what im talking about going on : ) just wanting to make sure I mention it.

I think I may have been trying to be too clever when building the cabinets as I thought it would be a good idea to vent all 3 chambers via the 1 extraction fan and filter. So the 2 smaller cabinets passively vent into the main cabinet all pulled by the 6inch inline. But now it’s hard to control all 3 individually as each has different requirements

Not saying you dont know what’s going on at all✌️ i had a misunderstanding of how a few things were working in my room and was just digging my hole deeper while chasing my tail : ) I basically took all my “cleverness” down and re did it 😂 not the hardest lesson learned but definitely a humbling experience and “blow to my ego” hahaha!

I wish I had more experience to help you out man! Im glad to see you are thinking ahead of the game and that right there is going to help you more than you know (or you do know that already lol) at least itll get you pointed in the right direction! I’ll bet someone with some real world experience will chime in!

Hey could you throw something in there to make a simulated “wet bud” and see what happens!? 🤷🏼‍♂️

I've never managed to hit 60/60 in my drying tent. We harvested one yesterday, and the sensors in the drying tent show 69º F & 55% RH. I've concluded drying isn't only about those two numbers. What's important is how fast or slowly the buds dry. So, I use a computer fan with a variable-speed controller to slow the airflow and extend the drying time.

How intuitive are these? Are they talking to any controllers like aci?

Great idea, Im sure I will find a likely substitute in the garden 🌱✂️

If you had to pick one as the most important to get the drying time right which would you say? As I had it running at 74 degrees earlier and 63% humidity so can get to 60% with higher temps
