making 9 site to a 12.air pump and water pump question

ok so I am making system bigger I know I have to circlulate more water now should I go with the pump UC calls for on the 12 site?or should I go bigger for more flow?is more flow benificial to plants and as for the air I am going to have a pump just for epicenter and use the one from 9 site for the buckets.

A little bigger is better to handle the higher capacity.
