Thanks week! This tent will be rocking a 3x3 grassroots no-till bed running all new coots mix, should be about 120 gallons of medium or I may stick with 3x 30 gals next run if all goes to plan! And will still be a single plant! Itā€™s a lot to get here to make the mix not to mention the 2x 30 gals planned for the 4x8
I'll try this at some point again, you guys make it look easy. šŸ˜œ Nice job. Kahuna right? What terps are you getting from that right now? (hard to tell which one is the main stalk) Did you top?

Yes topped twice taller mains are the leading tops, golf ball lower canopy is the lower tops I got to come up by spreading the leaders out and not tucking them, I like to let the mains stretch to give me a few larger colas and really see wat the plant can produce with larger tops as well as flat canopies at the same time thatā€™s why the 3rd layer is just what I call the ā€œCola Catcherā€ the upper white table level is actually my ā€œscrogā€ level where the golf balls form evenly

And yes this is @Captspaulding kahuna this is my pheno / genotype 2

Man those buds are getting seriously fat, grats man! Coming along REAL good! I have been watching her since the flip, and its still nuts to me how hard 1 plant can go in a tent on its own. I am flipping my girls tonight, taking clones in an hour or so and swapping to the 12/12 timer.

Looking forward to your garden bed adventure šŸ˜ I will be watching closely.

I wonā€™t sugar coat it either sheā€™s seein some cal def. Just ended week 5 and I saw it starting to show, Iā€™m not shocked honestly I noticed some def possibly iron on the clone sheā€™s a big clone but the kahuna 3 clone was spotless so I think itā€™s a more sensitive pheno, hell I havenā€™t seen real cal def in years, so seein the spots actually surprised me. She not crazy bad yet but I saw it progress pretty quick over the past 4 days so I know sheā€™s gunna look a bit worse soon, Iā€™d imagine sheā€™ll finish fine, just not as full of leaves and as pretty as Iā€™d like, you can see a bit of the def if you zoom in but itā€™s hard to see on camera. also backed the power down from 100% to 80% and raised the light 6ā€

But here she is currently!

Diddnt get a close up but whole tent quick on the way out the door for work, 2nd pic was from Saturday. Here looking back at the pic I can see the cal def starting, it moved quick in under 4 days itā€™s on almost every fan leaf, im wondering if itā€™s because humidity dropped so hard over these past 4 days I was riding 5-0 ish % and itā€™s plummeted to under 30% so itā€™s possible the hydraulic pressure in the leaves stopped up takin as much to compensate. Regardless im still happy with her, sheā€™s smelling great already, sheā€™s into week 6 so sheā€™s bulking so once she stops stacking Iā€™ll remove some damaged leaves, but itā€™s is also one reason I defoliate a bit less than most do. I look at the spare old fan leaves as a piggy bank for hard times. But no hiding anything! Iā€™ll get some better pics of the leaves in a few days when Iā€™m home at lights on.

Another thing probably contributing is my not having time to really watch for issues early, Iā€™m jumping in and out due to a super heavy work schedule so Iā€™m getting about 10 minutes to deal with all 4 tents a day, but weā€™ll power through, I got enough cured bud on hand to last me a year even sharing heavily so no sweat off the brow, I just know who the keeper is, the genetically superior pheno #3, but I still have high hopes for this girl!

I've seen that before and thought it was normal, is it?
Iā€™ll have to get some better pics, thatā€™s just what it looks like from the camera it has the ol classic brown spots all over,

Late late when they are eatin themselves for me usually around week 7ish they start to fade and eat themselves, only because I top dress at week 3, so around week 7 the Gaia would need a top dress, but I donā€™t, I just keep straight watering through till finished by week 8 I have a few leaves dying off and I just let ā€˜em keep fading, exactly where the Kahuna 3 is, in the other tent, late week 8 looking better by the day, havenā€™t had time at all to remove any leaves so here she is still goin, just lettin her do her thing

Sheā€™d look all nice in the wide pic but I havenā€™t had much time in the tents to clean em up, another day or 2 and Iā€™ll get an hour or 2 in there through the day šŸ¤£

Same here, carbon copy with one of my tents, last year. When I was full of energy I'd just flush the pot good. Helped. I literally dragged the pot to the edge of the garage and water hosed it. Rinsed it good. Fuck it, had nothing to lose. But it freakn helped.
But this year, in the exact same pot...same problem! I was not gonna rinse that pot again. I just clipped off the leaves as they wilted. šŸ¤£ Because that pot was inside, wasn't about to drag that thing outside with a huge plant in itšŸ¤£
Anyways, I clipped the leaves off so no energy was wasted from the plant trying to fix them. If that makes sense. The flower was slow to mature in this same pot. But your flowers are looking better than good.

Hereā€™s a close up of the cal def Iā€™m seeing

Itā€™s coming in quick but she still looks ok, I left most of her top fans initially after the day 21 defol so once I pull those when they die off my under layer of leaves should be in much better condition to take over, being out of direct light they donā€™t get damaged the same as the top fans normally

All in all she still looks good, she is in week 6 so sheā€™s only for 2.5ish weeks to run so l get her to the finish line, she might have a black eye or 2 but sheā€™s still stackin heavy

Looking real good indeed. I had a bout with this for about three years. And for me it was too much calcium the whole time. Not saying it's what you got, just reminds me of my debacle that I went through. Long story short, if you really want to know, get that soil tested. Because almost everything we put in the soil, and I mean everything... Has calcium in it. I looked up the bottom portion here and believe half of it ... šŸ¤£ It does look like calcium deficiency but I'd still check the soil.

  • Too much calcium
    Symptoms include:
    • Leaf tip burn

    • Stunted growth

    • Dark green leaves

    • Yellowing between leaf veins

    • Death of leaf areas

    • Defoliation

    • Nutrient lockout
  • Not enough calcium
    Symptoms include:
    • Bushy appearance

    • Small, misshapen leaves

    • Brown chlorotic spots on leaves

Itā€™s possible soil is on its end of its 3rd run I did amend but only cal sheā€™s had was 3 tablespoons of gypsum each top dressing 4 weeks apart, could be from too much fish bone meal or the lobster meal, NOTED! Was the first time testing the lobster meal, but combined it may be overload, was a good time to notice it though, sheā€™ll finish out I believe or at least finish week 8 Iā€™d hope and Iā€™d be happy, this is the last run with This soil moving to full living soil ! Ordered already and on the way canā€™t wait to get it here, Iā€™ll get it all set up very soon, as soon as the kahuna 3 finishes in the 4x8 Iā€™ll get tinge soils mixed up and split between the 30 gals, once the kahuna 2 is done itā€™ll be a heavy cleaning and Iā€™ll move the single 30 gallon into this tent, next run will be either a kahuna 3 or a Frostette gotta take the clones soon to start gettin em rooted as soon as the nodes get long enough on the reveg šŸ˜€

Ainā€™t nobody scared up in here šŸ˜œ

Iā€™m running a microgreen / veggie tent with a @SpiderFarmerLED SF600 as well as 8x 20w Barrina Grow bars tied together with that vent wide is A 2x2x36 scrogged with 2 plants with a PL1000

4x8 is also running a FC-E8000 like you do on one side and a FD6500 on the other just under 1600w total for the 4x8 another PL4500 on the side of needed, Iā€™m not one to push too hard with power, I have it available but I adjust by plant appearance and response šŸ˜ I also run UV/IR bars designed to be used with the FC-E8000 in there as well šŸ˜‰

But this is the 4x4 topic weā€™ll leave that stuff for my other topics šŸ˜

I do a lot of projects and testing I like reducing costs so if I can get an equal harvest running half the powerā€¦ I do it, same density, yield, flavors and aromas, with less power is my goal at all times.

Youā€™d be shocked what 300-400w can do, pics below are of Frostette under 400w, 2 plants 2x4 scrog net (utilizing half the light) 640g off the 2 plants and she was iced the hell out šŸ˜ (2nd and 3rd pics)

Last 3 pics pic same pheno (3rd gen clone) in the 4x8 now week 6 those are under about 500w right now
sick setup, 640g off 400 w is crazy. just grabbed a se5000 hoping for some results anywhere near what you are pulling. great content found you on the shaded GG forum , figured id go looking for some more recent posts.

found ya!
šŸ‘ŠšŸ‘ŠšŸ‘Š

So here we are just about to end week 6x about 2 weeks to go, sheā€™ll end at 8 at latest either way, bit of cal def, had some leaves finally crinkle up gave em a quick very light defol of only the worst leaves, when I encounter issues like this I try to go minimal, baby the plant only remove the worst leaves, let them utilize every bit of that leaf before you remove it from the plant

But sheā€™s hangin in, as much as I wanna say itā€™s calcium Iā€™m now leaning more twords sodium, this is 3rd run on this soil and I rely heavily on EWC, possible over time with drybacks it may have been increasing / concentrating sodium I normally treat my organic similar to soil and give a fairly good dryback, which in this case may have combined with cal def and exaggerated it

It sheā€™s still rockin and stackin for sure!

Week 6 defenitly has cal def, but sheā€™s soldiering through, still tons of healthy leaves below, left the sacrificials up a bit longer to get ate up, everything underneath looks good, if you compare the end of the video to the start youā€™ll see a large difference in cola size so despite the cal def sheā€™s stacking on weight quickly no worries colas look great! Onward! Once this run completes we prepare for full living soil in both tents!

Noticed I never see myself one time in this time lapse, very unusual, I usually see my hands or arms 2-3 times through the week, but due to being sick I was happy just to crawl my ass over to the tent to get her water but glad I did after seeing how well the cola stack is going

But onward and upwards! Letā€™s keep er rollin!

If thereā€™s one bonus to this cal def situation, itā€™s to let people see through this time lapse how quickly cal def presents and spreads, if I had not been sick and noticed it earlier and was able to back the lights off a shade it may not have progressed so bad

Thanks bear! I appreciate it! I could see the nice clean under canopy so figured Iā€™d expose it her last week and a half I could a made her pretty earlier but those leaves were still being used and eaten up so thatā€™s why Iā€™ll leave em, yeah I like nice pics, but I wonā€™t cannabalize a plant early to make a better pic!
