Damn! Do you smoke the leaves or are you gonna use them for extraction? I would extract the kief and smoke it. Cant discard those leaves, theyre full of trichomes 😍
I always do! I just use my trim bib as the sifter I run through the leaves first during trim then after trim any buds that are too small for me to feel like doing anything with (usually quarter size or smaller) I’ll break up and sift out, I filled a 1/2 pt jar last harvest just getting down to the last 8-10 grams or so lol

I may make some infused coconut oil as well since I’ll be off for 2 weeks, maybe some olive oil too, but I’ve really been wanting to make infused sugar

Oh, in that case it makes honor to its name, its frostette as fuck. Ive seen a few kahunas in the forum already though and now that I think about it they were more like long colas, not as many trichomes but more weight, right?
EDIT: oh yes I remember now, it was the missiles.
That’s how I got this pack of them Trustfall (variety719) was looking for a name I had said it should be named frosty like frosty the snowman, but I said nah it’s a girl, so Frostette, Trustfall sent me the first pack of GCC x Okie labeled as Frostette, I have 1 seed left no idea if she’ll pop she should, it’s in the fridge, maybe 3 years old now?

I also found 3 bag seeds in Frostette #3 (killer pheno tan that one 5 times) I can’t remember if I gave those away or if I kept them I believe I kept them

This plant is a clone off of the revegged Frostette mother and new clone is in the 2x4

Here’s the root ball chop from the 12 gal to a 1 gal, revegged, cloneed and that’s this clone now

I almost let her go and saved her the very last second 🤣

For living soil should I try to pull up the whole root ball? I wasn't sure if I just cut at the stalk or try to remove the roots. I'll be harvesting soon is why i ask. 2 or 3 weeks im guessing.

What’s your plan for replanting? Like how long before you need to replant, I cut the stalk and waited about 6-7 days (just during the initial dry time) then I go in and rock the stem around, let it pull out it’s bigger roots using the leverage then pull the ball and leave the fine roots in place (worms will eat those up) if you have time you can leave it in and wait till it’s nearly rotted out where you can just pull it out,

I diddnt need to pull them yet cus I’m not gunna replant in em for at least a month probably but I pulled them, worked up the top 4-5” of soil, did my amending and now I’ll let it sit for a month or month and a half and then replant (I’ll keep moisture on the meter around 35-45% the higher the moisture the more emit encourages worms to breed in another week or so I’ll probably set up some low power barrina light bars and start cover crop then chop and drop at transplant and replant fresh cover crop again

No. Let the stock dry for a couple weeks then break off the stock. It should leave most of the roots. Then plant you next clone or seedling in the hole.

Yeah I only went a week lol, but 90% of the roots stayed I basically took about a fist size rootball just cut into the soil with some clippers and cut off most then just pried to the side, got pretty much the tap root and a few deep roots and that was it, but was nice cus I was able to top dress and mix into the top 6” I wanted to do that then wait 2-3 ish weeks then start a new cover crop round (I’m waiting till I chop Frostette most likely so I may do it early) then let cover crop run for 3-4 weeks till drip a plant in, but we’ll see lol I alwys do some kind of wacky shit, usually works out 🤣

I was planning on planting right back in but I think I'm going to wait until it cools off some. Not even in July yet and it's hot af.

Plus I want to set up a second EB and try working with more worms. I'll have to keep it moist and assume that I will still need to feed the microbes.

Ok. I'm gonna wait probably 6 to 8 weeks before I replant. I have a hard time with the heat and humidity. I think I finally have it dialed in.

Inching closer and closer to a living soil grow Mike! 🤣 as of now im really enjoying “hot rodding” my situation hahaha! watering only once a month though sounds pretty tempting! 😆🤣 ( i know you water more than that lol)

your results are amazing! and im sure youll be able to tell hands down the difference! : ) ✌️

Wouldn’t all the worm poop and composting plant matter keep your microbe population happy? I raised worms for a couple years when I was growing indoor so I could brew some tea that was it, worm castings and molasses and bubble for a couple days.

It’s a pretty solid system. Way nicer than mixing all the nutes

That and just having to water/feed every few days. Could totally benefit from being out in the shed less (not trying to be lazy or not focus on plants) it would give me the time to spend on training a plant care above root level and then spending time elsewhere around the house : ) ✌️

Leave the root ball, a few weeks after harvesting that stalk will pop right out with barely any roots good worm food.

A nice thing about living soil is you can be as hands on or hands off as you want to be and still get great results. I took a 10 day vacation in the middle of flower and didn’t need anyone to water for me. I use a drip irrigation that is gravity fed. Ecowitt moisture meters and blumat drippers for the win. I only feed once a week. So could technically not open the tent a week at a time.

That’s what I’m doing, I’m not worried about veg it can get to 100 if it wants for all I care. But I’d rather not waste the power mid summer at peak price when I can grow 1 or 2 out there and avoid all that lol (thinking about putting one more out there maybe the A&B x okie 2 that way I can try some of it have the other to run indoor and maybe pop 2 more strains for winter runs
