Decided to start up a new topic for this new setup. I have decided to go to full living organic soil, while I was running organics in 12 gallon pots we are increasing everything.

The setup continues to build but the game plan is simple, 3x 30 gallon Grassroots Living Soil Pots, soil will be a mix of 2 bags of Diamond Duke Dominion blend, and 1 bag of Build a Soil Light Recipe per 30 gallon pot, plan will be to keep the soil level somewhat low, with 3 cubic feet of soil totaling about 22.5 gallons of soil per bag to start them off

They will be getting Landrino white clover cover crop as well as a 13 seed cover crop mix. Also plan to top with straw, will have red wigglers coming when the bags are put together

Bases for each bag are a 24” hot water tank heater drain pan, 5 cinder brick stood on their side, and on top is 2 pieces of coated clothes racks 30”x18” each overlapping 6” in the middle resting on the center brick there will be the 2 in the 4x8 and 1 in the 4x4 soil and base and bag here and ready to go in as soon as the 4x4 empties, no rush she smells like Hawaiian Punch in there 😜👊👊

Once the current run finishes in the 4x4 and I can move in the bag I’ll fill all 3 up and start the cover crop, the cuts going in will be done 1x of the revegged Frostette #6, 1x kahuna #2, and 1x Kahuna #3

figured I’d start the topic ahead of time as I gather materials and get stuff set up!

Airflow the 24” treys under them are exact size it also allow for it to drip if for any reason I overwater which I have no plan to but I always like airflow, lol I’ll have a fan on the ground as usual

It also keeps them off the cold concrete floor down in the basement lol air is 68-70 in the lung room

Bout to grow some killer smoke! Can’t wait to see the outcome🤩😍 a man and his craft! : )
That’s the plan not goin for crazy size more for a nice manageable plant of each I’m looking for nice consistency in my soil as well as the smoke I can do wild outdoors if I want I want the indoor to be like a fine tuned machine that cranks out exactly the same every time with as little effort possible

I figure once I get the ecowitts it’ll be easy to manage moisture so it’s really a set it and forget it besides Choppin some cover crop etc

I am in on this one! I'm looking forward to following along and learning how it's done!
Itll be a learning curve for me as well, as much as I relied on amendments and neuts like Gaia green it’s a full change up but I can’t wait, see what I need to build over time, with one plant being in the 4x4 it’ll let me experiment more, try different stuff in one bag seeing how it does etc before commiting all 3

Gunna be a blast, but tons to learn 😁

As soon as I started reading into your thread I knew that’s exactly what you were doing. Lots of folks here grow a great great cannabis but not everyone here is growing “that one plant” : )

What I grow is for me, yeah I’ll share with others when I have excess which I always do even after making extra dry sift, pressing wax etc, but I started out full synthetics when I started growing again and then started really wanting organic veggies in my garden when I set up the 60x40 and finally got it crankin healthy as hell, can’t wait to dig out the holes to amend this year and see how the soils looking in the pits, got more ideas for this year!

But then I said why would I eat organic and as healthy as I can, then go and smoke weed that wasent grown organic. I feel like my organic runs taste, smoother in a way, like the flavors are clearer, I know some say you can’t taste the difference, but I’m ran clones side by side multiple times one with 100% organic and other with same organic mix with like fox farms bloom and micro on a regular feed (excellent runs like this) / also did the kahuna 3 with megacrop full line on top of organic mix and kahuna 2 all organic

I’m All for everyone choosing their preference and I’m sure everyone can tel I like running eveything before I knock it, I promise you’ll see RDWC in one of my tents at some point with HPS, I like mixing it up haha

I'm going bigger this time around with a soil I call one armed super soil with no fingers. Will do a photo 15g Rain Science bag in the 3 x 3 and at least two autos 10g AC Infinity on AC Infinity XL butt watering setups in the 2 x 4. Hope to be popping seeds this weekend.
Hell yeah! Gunna start amending this soil early, I may even do a soil test after a run or 2 to see how what I add is maintaining the soil. I’m looking for that consistency now I can always mix it up and pop a seed or throw a couple one gallon pots between the 30’s to look for something new but I may get some high CFM bars to put through the 4x8 even across the center to run nets on, but we’ll see, lots to set up already lol

May even eventually run all 3 30’s in the 4x8 who knows, then use the 4x4 to hunt new stuff, right now this next run will tell me which kahuna I want to keep as the permanent mother the Frostette earned her spot so she stays for now lol

I just want to go back to the old days with bigger pots and a kinder, simpler, lazy way. Back in the day nobody ever used anything smaller than 5g pots or buckets. And most prefered 7g or 10g. And most didn't transplant. If someone did transplant it was from a 1g to the permanent pot. Back when local nurseries made pete pots I started my seeds in 1/2g pete pots and buried them in the permanent pots and let the plant roots wreck the pete pots as they became part of the soil. But try finding a nursery that makes their own pete pots anymore. OOOO well....

I hear ya! I clone in the cloner then they go into some lightly amended promix. Since I’m changing… everything I chose to switch over to use the BAS light recipe as my rooting medium, I use 1/2 gallon nursery pots and those will start getting the cover crop etc as well. Going all out same with the mother plants. Gunna dig in tonight and really decide on what I wanna order but I could start with what’s on hand if I need to lol

I am finding it’s easier to keep plants healthier in larger pots plus less watering, we’ll see how this run goes. Picking out some top dress and teas that’ll complement the mix as it sits, but I wanna have the soil actively eating and replenishing
