I saw it and said out loud "oh shit, bud rot" before I even scrolled down. Like being told you have lung cancer. Makes me proud when I give top-grade bud to relatives at Christmas and I can say it's clean of everything. I even hold back the fertilizer toward the end so it gets used up and the weed sweetens up. And the problem was solved with just H2O2? Are you serious? It always comes back like cancer. People that buy pot for dispensaries will turn down much better product than a crop has been infected with mold. All a potential buyer has to hear is that bud rot was even present at the site and they'll reject the entire lot. The entire plant gets immediately bagged and thrown into a fire whenever you see that. You dispose of it like toxic waste. You can even have buds that rot from the inside out. I've seen that. Buds look fine on the outside. Rotten on the inside. And this guy discusses chemicals.

It makes me remember a guy who might still be on Youtube who identified himself as a "Professional Medical Marijuana Grower" and had a number of videos. He had at least one big room that could do maybe 100 plants. He was hardly professional. He brought plants in from outside the grow and then wondered how he got mites. He cross-contaminated his own lab like an idiot. And then he was using pesticides! That's, right, several different pesticides. On medical marijuana. Incredible. I've always been a person of science but people shouldn't even try to get into commercial growing without a college education. Like an ag or biology degree. More than half of a large class at Penn State with me flunked or dropped Biological Science II when I almost aced the course. It was a course that made students change their majors. Just like those ill-prepared students at PSU that came from shitty high schools and barely passed high school biology, many people that get into commercial marijuana growing don't know what the fuck they are doing. And many people don't know their limitations. They find out when they go broke.

Actually, in commercial grows the moldy stuff gets thrown in the biomass bin along with the leaves and sometimes trim and will get turned into oil.

Of course it wasn't solved with just H2O2. But it can be managed with products like Oxidate that degrade to water, oxygen, and acetic acid (which further photodegrades to COx gas). Management (rather than control) of diseases in outdoor environments is something plant science people learn about in university. I mean the options are cut early and get ~50% yield that is 20-40% weaker (in terms of Cannabinoid concentration) or manage it and get ~75% yield at full strength with some minor additional costs. Now we're in Economics 101

I've always been a person of science but people shouldn't even try to get into commercial growing without a college education.

How many farmers in this world do you think have college educations? In the US it's some dismal number around 25%., and some 98% of conventional growers don't have a degree. Conventional growing just requires a good instruction booklet and someone that is good at following instructions to make it happen. Organic growing is a different ballgame and the overwhelming majority of organic growers have degrees because a much deeper lever of biological, and even ecological, knowledge is required for success.

As an outdoor grower who has experienced bud rot (what I see in your pics) I can answer some of your questions.
—Don’t put fans all around because they will spread spores
—Cut below molded part of stem and discard upper molded section.
—Before cutting moldy stems or buds minimize spore spread by misting then cover with plastic bag and cut moldy parts.
—Don’t put chemicals on buds that are ready to harvest as it makes no sense.
—Don’t stop watering plants still maturing…just reduce watering by half.
—Buds that are ready for harvest but have been exposed to mold spores should be harvested, wet trimmed, and dried normally in a room with a dehumidifier and AC if needed. Lowering the humidity should prevent mold growth and allow for proper drying.

My stuff is outside yes... I've never had this issue before, but we had a cold rainy week. This is just my personal smoke crop, that's all I do, but this year has been one thing after another... I think it's time to set up a controlled environment.

I tried to grow outdoors this past summer and we a lot of terrible weather all summer. They kept getting damaged here and there, then our neighborhood got hit by a tornado, ruined all four plants I had. So now I have a whole indoor setup in my basement.

My other plot got pollinated, heavily, so this was my backup plan, so now I'm fucked.... guess I'll grow those free auto seeds in my basement this winter lol.

I'm glad I ordered a bunch of seeds last spring. I started one in October and just harvested it. In December I started 2 of the free seeds I got but they turned hermie 3 weeks into flowering so I just stared 2 more new girls a few weeks ago. Here's to hoping these ones make it to harvest.

Hello, we have mold issues now.
Short description of our grow:

• greenhouse
• hydroponics
• stem cell&lemon kush strains

My observations of why it has started:

• it all started from dead plants - they were all covered in a mold which further infected other plants
• only the oldest flowering plants are infected (which has only 1 week before harvest, younger plants at the middle-flower stage are untouched)
• I see that mold is infecting the following areas:
  • damaged regions of a stem (1 image)
  • where one plant lays on the other
  • I think it is too much to have 4 plants in one Rockwool mat (this white bag), we will put 3 plants per mat next time
  • our greenhouse's roof is leaking. One week ago I've noticed some flowers are wet

My actions:

• Every day I am cutting the molded parts of the plants
• I've isolated the plants (video) - moved all the 33 bags (4 plants each) to a nearby greenhouse. Mold continues to develop
• I will support some of them that tend to lower or lean on the neighboring plants so there is better ventilation
• I will apply a chemical called Topsin... unwillingly

Questions:

• there was a situation where our plants were watered with plain water for a week. We are growing in hydroponics Could it be related to the mold issues? Like lowering the immunity or so?
• I see some flowers are ready to harvest. I plan to work with anti-mold chemicals on them (though unwillingly). How much time should it pass before I can harvest? Any information I should know about using chemicals for cannabis?
• What could I do with the molded area of the stem? Or just cut below it and there is no other "shortcut"?
• if I stop watering them could it help to stop the mold?
• Is there a point to put fans all around them or they will just hasten the spore migration from plant to plant? When I shake a very molded area - I see a lot of spores dusting around.
• Could mold be developed because our kids are overripened? Some sugar leaves are dry, stigmas are also.
• Should I harvest ripened plants, those without signs of infections? But if they are infected they will mold during the drying process.

Any help would be appreciated. I would value answers that are not just quick solutions but with some deeper understanding of a topic.
