Moving plants from indoors to outdoors to add extra hours of darkness

I would like to know if moving plants in at night to give the full 12 hours of darkness and to defend against rain. They are moved to a room with lots of circulation of fresh air from the outside and the humidity is fine. Will the slight change in environment cause an unneeded stress on the flowering plants. Ive noticed more growth from the extra hours of darkness and no stress yet, but I still was wondering.

I know alot of people up in our area that do this over the summer to take advantage of our summer without having to worry about them finishing before the weather comes along. Keep it up it will be woorth it!!
