My First time Growing Jack Herer

Hello Everyone, I have been wanting to try to grow this strain for some time now, but was worried about space as i grow indoors. I decided no better time than the present to give it a shot so here goes. I am currently 3 weeks into this grow but will post everything here to catch it up.

What i am growing now is 2 plants, one seed is a Regular seed and the other is a Femanized seed. They are from MSNL. I am using a BESTVA Reflector Series 2000W COB LED Grow Light Full Spectrum. Gorilla Grow Tent 4 ft wide by 2 feet deep by 7 feet tall. Using method of Hydroponics in a DIY reservoir.

At Official Grow Week 1:
2.5" Tall 21" to Light, 90 degrees F with 30% Humidity, PH 5.7 Solution temp of 87 degrees F (yes we have been having a heat wave, so hoping all will be well with those temps).

Rez is a 27 Gallon Container with 10 Gallons of RO Water with Alkaline added.

Nutrients are: 20ml HydroGuard, 20ml Voodoo Juice, 20ml Tarantula, 20ml Piranha, 20ml CaliMagic, 20ml FloraMicro, 20ml FloraGro, 20ml FloraBloom, 40ml Diamond Nectar, 80ml FloraBlend

I forgot to mention i am currently on and 18h light schedule.

Grow Week 2:
86 Degrees F with 38% Humidity
4" high and i moved the light to 24" away from plant as there was a small possible stress sign
PH 5.7 75 degree Solution Temp

Nutrients: 20ml Hydroguard, 20ml voodoo juice, 20ml Tarantula, 20ml Piranha, 12ml Armor Si, 20ml CaliMagic, 60ml FloraMicro, 80mlFloraGro, 20ml FloraBloom, 8ml Floralicious Plus, 80ml Diamond Nectar, 80ml FloraBlend

Ok, here is where i catch up to where i am currently. Things are going great, i can't complain.

Grow Week 3:

93 degrees F 36% humidity
7" High 24" from light
PH 5.8 84 Degrees F Solution Temp

Hey that looks great! Can I ask you how you like the Bestiva2000? I was going to buy that exact light to use for a couple of months in the summer heat but never got around to it, it looks like it's doing a great job, what do you think of it so far??

I think it is a good light. My first grow with it i kept it too far as i did not want to burn the plants and ended up with too much space between nodes. about 20 -24" from plant is the sweet spot i have found so far this grow. Node spacing is better.. i am getting some unexpected growth as well. Overall i am pleased with the light, especially with the price.

this time i am going to do my best to end up with about 10-12" distance when finished stretch in flower. we will see how that goes..

Grow Week 4:
7" tall, 24" from light
91 Degrees F, 40% Humidity
PH 6.0 Solution Temp 77 Degrees F.
27 Gallon Container with 10 Gallons of water

Both Grow and Bloom Light switches are now on. I have also placed some foil on the top of the container to see if it helps with reflection for lower parts of the plant.

This week i topped the 4 top nodes and removed Vegetation from the node directly before the topped node. I then did some LST with the plant ties to spread them out and shorten them a bit back to 7" high. There are some before and after pictures of this week's training.

I completely drain (as much as possible) and refill every 7 to 10 days. I purchase battery operated water transfer pumps. something like this one...

I purchase extras just in case. they last a decent amount of time, but i have had a couple break, so i normally keep 2 to 3 of them on hand. it takes about 10-15 min to drain and about the same to refill with the new solution.

My process is make the new solution first, then throw the Digital PH Meter in there. after about 5 min i should have a steady reading. when that is about done i check the PH to log the values or adjust if needed. Once i am finished pulling the old water out this way then i fill the res using the same pump.

I use an empty 17 gallon container to make the solution to refill the rez with the plants.

This week i only did some LST thus far, just some minor bending of a few branches on the left side, i did not tie them down, will check tomorrow to see if its going as i hope otherwise i may tie down to let the right plant catch up a bit. Overall the plants are looking healthy and i expect they will stretch quite a bit.. i am a little scared i may have waited too long to switch the lights.. we will see.. Looks like i will have to check on these daily for a bit until they are set with the net.

Left plant ended up being male so i had to pull it. it was growing too tall as well, so i wasn't too sad it turned out to be male, now i have more space to let this girl on the right stretch. She is looking nice and healthy. i am happy how it is going so far.

Its been pretty hot here lately, but she is still doing good through the heat.

Only did a bit of LST so far this week. Even though the temps out there in the tent is hot, she appears to be handling the situation pretty good. i will start using Silica Blast out there next week as i understand it helps with extreme heat and cold situations.

Notes: Things are going great. The temps in this area have cooled a bit from where they were just a week ago. Luckily i did not see any issues from the excessive heat we had earlier.. This Lady is looking great, flowers are starting to get larger now that she is done stretching. I anticipate 5 weeks left at least for this fantastic plant.
