I paid with a money order. It only took 3 weeks and I have my red card. My wife went 4 days before me and she got hers at 3 weeks as well. Might be a good time to get them if anyone has to.

I know melizzard is legit....

"catching up" means the folks who skated through/bought cards @ dispensaries from shady docs may not make it through again. (the backlog prevented them from reviewing apps)

And...if this passes...we'll be in WORSE shape than we were in the "old days" before all of this blew up....back when it was alomst IMPOSSIBLE to find a doc (like yer primary doc or specialist) who had the balls to write a rec.

wot a fuckin' mess....

OMG, this is getting so freakin' ridiculous!!!!! What is going to happen for people like me who are legit and who need high counts for oil? :( :( Beginning to wonder if I 'shouldn't' be legit ...

I've been going to the same "review" doc for 7 years. If this rule were to be enacted I'm not sure I'd be able to say "for 8 years" as the review is all my doc does due to physical limitations.

And I hear ya about the entire "legit' thing. I'll wager heavily that >most< folks here are thinking in the same fashion...especially those folks who played the game >before< there was any thought or idea of "medical marijuana".

wot a mess...

I qualify for the state regs to receive a red card but it seems like an increasingly hard issue to find a doctor that will sign my rec as my last pain management doc dumped me and i think that cannabis had a part to play in that decision.

Yep the CDPHE hired some temp help to get through the backlog. They're caught up and should be able to get them back to patients within the 35 days now.

They just shot themselves in the foot. No more red cards means no more money. This is the beginning of the end.

My Red Card came today... it's my third.. and I was worried, I sent the thing in March! My old one expired last May... and every month or so one of my patients who I took in after March would call and say they got their card... and the whole time, I'm like "What the fuck about meee!!!!!!!" They must be using the LIFO method at the CDPHE! Anyway, I got mine..... and as an added bonus it's good through next November.

dang ... i did everything in February and had my Red card in late September..

maybe they cashed the first few money orders ... and decided to swim in the money naked for a little while before they got the rest of them cashed.. wonder how much money they must deposit every day..

has to be a crazy amount of cash coming into the state at $90 a person... x 1000s a day ... is INSANE ... imagine if the whole country got on board .. we'd be out of debt in no time... hell maybe even see green

Unfortunately each citizen's share of the national debt is $44,749.91 and that's at the time I checked. By the time you read this, it'll be even higher. The State and/or Fed would have to raise the card fee by a lot. $90 a pop isn't really a whole lot in the bigger scheme of things.

If the f*ckers would just legalize & tax it like they do other vices - that would definitely help take a bite outta the national debt. Legalizing would piss-off those who currently grow & sell for the black market. I'm hoping that if they do someday legalize, one would still be able to grow for personal use - much like if one wanted to grow & smoke one's own tobacco or brew your own beer.

Legalization will also put the "Centers" (a.k.a. today's "legal" black market) out of business because the ownership of retail outlets will no longer be reserved for "medical" patients. Like a liquor store, anyone who wants to enter the biz will pay the licensing fees, go through public review, and open for business if approved by the powers-that-be.

I'm ready for that level playing field (again), how about you?

wot a mess...

Problem is, how do we legalize, but still make it a "people's" commodity, i.e. not taken over by big pharma or tobacco? The powers that be know the tide is changing towards legalization, they are just trying to slow down the presses and give the corporations a chance to get in the game. The DAY that it gets moved to Schedule II, there will be patents in for every cannabinoid that exists...mark my words! Legalization will just be the first step, we will have to fight to keep this plant and it's hybrids in the public domain, otherwise we will all be smoking GMO Round-Up Ready Skunk#1!

I see "legalization" of weed happening a lot like the legalization of booze happened.

Dunno the state-by-state laws on home brewing...but when alcohol "became legal' it also became legal in most places to >legally< to make yer own beer/wine for personal consumption. Larger amounts....commercial amounts...were licensed out to large corps..as you know.

The difference between alcohol and pot being legal will be nil in these areas...and THAT is what most folks here/on the canna boards don't wanna hear. YES...the BIG corps will step in...

and for the >privilege< of the Gov't allowing you to freely buy/use marijuana....just as you can do with alcohol... ANY sales outside of licensed/permitted uses will be illegal/prosecuted. You'll be permitted to grow "X' amount at home....but ...like home brews...you won't be permitted legallly to sell it to your neighbor/friend/or set up a bar in your garage and sell openly to the public/etc.

in other words,,,legal will specifically mean "for personal use only".... and like alcohol...the 'capitalistic' approach to it that >many< folks have historicall enjoyed will be reserved for those willing to pay to open a biz/pay taxes/licensing on the sales/etc....and those folks will be forced to buy it "wholesale' from another licensed seller rather than firing up a light and selling weed you grew yourself/profit 100% from/etc.

Anyone who thinks the Gov't will "legalize" and it will be a free-for--all...."blow-it-up-like -it's COLORADO MMJ" scenario where you don't have to work and can sell freely is mistaken BIGTIME. "Sales" will revert to the illegal market....just like it was "pre-med"...and you'll probably always be able to sell a bag here/there of DANK...but not for the "illegal model" price of $400 per bag/$4000 per pound we're stuck on now. Again....think of what happened to the price of a bottle of hooch AFTER Prohibition was lifted and it was taxed/sold in the store.

And I dunno about you....but I got a buncha seeds and I don't plan to let monsanto have any of em...

should make it similar to Amsterdam at least.. or lower the trouble you can get into..

the fact that it's about the safest intoxacant there is should adjust the crime accordingly .. can't OD, most users are mellow, has medical use, etc.. who is it hurting?

there's some states where you can get in a lot of trouble for even 1 seed.. should make it decriminalized federally so that they could make a standard... seems like a guessing game.. one state it's totally cool... another you get a fine... another you get a felony? system is screwed up..

We actually have more lenient possession laws here in Colorado than in Amsterdam... and I'm not speaking towards "medical" marijuana.

1 oz or less has been a petty fine in CO since 1974.

In Amsterdam you can only possess 5 grams of marijuana...and that amount isn't really 'legal"...it's just a "soft policy".

the difference is the use (in controlled places) in public...like a coffeeshop....and the fact you can buy that 5 grams in such a shop. (for a fairly hefty price, and lower quality than what yer used to here)

It is illegal to GROW marijuana in most of holland...if not all.

again...folks THINK it is just a goddamn free-for-all (like they'd try to make it here) but it just isn't. In fact, it is truly frowned on to smoke marijuana in public...like walking down the street or in the Park.

not surprisingly...most folks told us "only the americans do that" when we visited there...
