I'd reserve judgment until you have flowered something under it...

Hey J, Hows it going...Thanks for the input...Glad to hear your having fun.

No one is going to call the police for a 1000 watt set up...Pay your electric bill on time, Do not show anyone your grow and you will crop out time after time.

People who want to grow buds and do not want to worry about growing Hay especially first time growers need not to waste time on LEDS and that is a fact and really good advice...

With the price of one LED set up you can buy a whole HID set up and never look back...

You'll be growing the best buds in your neighborhood.

If your worried about your month to month light bill then buying an LED set up is definitely out of your price range.

Anyone reading this please do not think about buying an LED set up unless you already have your HID set up and you want to test something out that doesn't really give you the buds you need to either pay your bills or be able to smoke from harvest to harvest or grow real medicine for sick patients....Just not going to happen.

The LEDs are really just a waste of time for growers.

For the same risk and usually less money you can be growing almost 10 times the amount of herb and way better quality!

I agree with Skunky........... give the industry a few more years. Things have improved some- just still has a ways to go. They are best as supplement or secondary lighting- but way to expensive to be seriously considered.

Everybody who claims LEDs work always "knows someone else who it worked for" but never has any proof to offer up themselves.

I'm curious about something--why is it so important for some folks to spend so much time decrying LED altogether?

No offense, but seriously, touching on points that the OP hasn't brought up not only aren't salient but add nothing to the discussion at hand.

Look forward to the seeing your veg action. Their is another grow by herbalizer that just finished up with LED and they look very nice with nice yield too.

Dont mind the nay sayers. Doing the best with whatever light you have (that is capable of growing a plant) will deliver. Who cares if someone else can or cannot do better with a different setup. It is not about them.

I apologize if it seemed I was saying something bad about the grow, I wasn't.

I responded first to an actual misconception that was posted in this thread which I quoted in my response.

Then I proceeded to fair warn any growers that might believe that misconception which could lead them down a long road of disappointment and might even be enough for that grower to give up..

Or even worse a patient that is really sick that has little money and is led in by the allure of cheap electric bills will undoubtedly be without medicine.

So all I was doing was pointing out the misconception... There are tons of LED threads I do not respond in.

Sorry again if I seemed negative to the thread.

I can not wait to see some pics and good luck with the grow!

I've subscribed. Jmagpharmer- keep posting. Don't let this become an LED vs HID thread. Let this remain *your* review of LED's. For that, I thank you for contributing to the community.

Skunky, ent has touched upon the reason why I feel the way I do, after reading all the threads here and elsewhere that I have. I personally believe it's important to keep pushing manufacturers to make a better light that will do what we want it to do because, let's face it, electricity costs a lot of money. We have had a lot of these threads degenerate into fests of "don't waste your time, just get a ____W HPS", which not everyone can afford to run long term.

Spectrum/wavelength--that's about the only thing that's really 'missing', and I'm not so sure it's all that far off. If you think it's penetration, I disagree, not when I see what's being done with aquarium lighting.

I'm in support of Skunky.......... some have become overly sensitive.

Ok, you can call it "overly sensitive", but honestly, it contributes nothing to the thread that's intended and said so. Do we really need another thread cluttered with more of the same?

Not meant at you actually Seamaiden............. just bring up the subject and you get waves of comments people feel strongly about.

Skunky was simply trying to remind growers who didn't know to try hids before you go spend a fortune buying LEDs to save on your light bill..Just to get mediocre
Thanks skunky you did the right thing even if some were offended...
Keep the info correct and he did.

I have dont ton of research into led for a while there before setting up a room. LED is great for clone, pre veg, veg. Its has 1' of light that is USABLE. The 1st Gen of LED was not good. It was base on miliamps and 1w. 2ed gen was 1/10milamp and 2w chip. AKA better.

I like to try the kessil led light. The light seems like a soda can sizeISH. Just looks so easy to use for side lighting or doing some cuttings with. Just user friendly with a decent output for what it is.

The 3ed gen seems to be going into larger Chip size witch then seems to suck closer to a MH or HPS. For bloom phase, i hear people pull 1p right now. I love to see what g2w you get! Keep the good work up.
