Lurking in the underground of the Great White North for over 3 decades, we recently decided to adopt a "brand identity".
With recreational cannabis now a very real thing in Canada, we have began to embark on the journey of becoming certified as a nursery. A recent announcement that a one time amnesty would be offered allowing new nurseries the chance to import their "black market" germplasm into the legal framework made that decision an easy one to make.
This makes for a very exciting time for breeders and growers who have been working with some of the best strains gardened for many years who would have not been otherwise able to grow under the new legal framework. At Black Market Genetix we would much rather concentrate on breeding and providing seeds and clones than being under the strict regulations and pressure to produce that many of the Licensed Producers are currently facing.
We haven't finished the process yet but we hope to keep everyone up to date here on the farm as the ride goes on.
We are huge fans of Gooeybreeder and have a few of his strains in the foundation stock of our own genetics. Equally big fans of the more Sativa spectrum and the cerebral effects associated with them, other strains in our breeding arsenal lean heavily towards diesel haze. As time permits we'll add the entire list of current seed stocks to our website (currently in the very early construction phase - think of it as IKEA instructions at the moment but give us time, we'll figure it out!).
Eventually we hope to be able to offer Black Market Genetix to the general public through the legal cannabis framework but until then we look forward to getting to know you all as we begin to shine a light on some of the best genetics available.
