So I started some seeds about 3 weeks back and they were doing great in my bucket setup i had them in. They got to the stage in the pictures and i transplanted them into Rockwool and into the hydro buckets. But since then they havent grown theybjust stopped and are mow browning at the edges. If you need any info on willing to supply it.

@Aqua Man is the cat you need to bend his ear, dude is straight up good at what he does, that said im a soil guy and had same problem with a make shift hyro outside with no air or pump in a trash can, first plant got 3 ft long and put on one baby cucumber and did same thing, noticed the plant had damped off after 3 weeks in peat moss and vermiculite,so i planted another it never even pop the soil, open lid and from the triple digit heat i have looked like the calcium phosphate had seperated,so got with him and we jawed with each other, planted a watermelon seed in rocks from my driveway and turned on a air pump to keep seperation from happening, low and behold the seed popped rocks 2 days from when i put it in and now has 2 full leaves and heat doesnt phase it with the air on,
so i have to ask when you check the rock wool was it green?just thinking fungus like i said im soil guy,but the edges look to me like you have over dosed it with nutes, probally wrong, what do roots look like?

Im pretty sure it was too much nutrients as well I emptyed the bucket last night and put in way less. But this morning it looked worse so i transplanted the bigger one back into rhe bucket i had with soil. Im hoping it gets healthyier. The roots were very brittle and white when I put it back in soil.

going from the water to soil keep eye on them ,what your seeing is stress ,it might take a couple of weeks to get the roots going and healthy again but can be done, check this out.the pic of the soil container is the soil i build, this is the cucumber plant i took out of the hydro, just for shits planted it,it was nothing but baby leaves for almost 2 weeks in the hydro, after i planted it it stressed for 3 weeks and this happened in just 1 week ,that can has a watermelon seed in it,planted it same day took other out ,so proof in the pudding it will work

Okay thanks im hoping it does as well as your watermelon plant but just in case i have more seeds germinating.
put a seed or 2 in a shot glass, soak with a very little bit hydrogen peroxide for 30 min, then plant that seed right into your soil see what happens, towel can get stuck to root when i grows a tail and sometime peel and damage the fish bones that come from the tail, what i do is put some ro water in a measuring cup about half full ,put in about 3 drops of em1,let them soak, buy morning if those seeds havent dropped to bottom of cup i dont use them,i make my own seeds and under stand not everyone can do this with high price seeds, but the one that drop to bottom are viable and always a game changer instead of guessing

Its just some potting mix from walmart mixed with seed starting dirt. I put some Fox Farm Grow big half a table spoon to one spray bottle and ill be using that to water for a bit. Im leaving the little guy in the hydro setup to see if he makes it. Will the little guys roots move from the rock wool and into the water without me lowering water levels?

Oldskol iv never hearwd of the hydrogen peroxide method before. With the 4 i have in paper towls I didnt really let them sit in a glass of water like i should have. But one should still pop hopfully. I got the Jack Here seed from my last batch of smoke and thought why not try growing again.

it should, the air bubbles should be splashing the cube not sitting in it,Aqua man works nights i think ,later im sure he will come around, ive learned the little i do know about the water gig from him

it just ro water with maybe a half teaspoon of peroxide ,helps soften the shell, towels work and have for years,i changed that method when i forgot about some seeds i put on my direct tv box for warmth went 2 days, them damn things had not only tails but full blown fish bones with it,i planted the paper and all after i destroyed one,and thought gotta be a better way,so looked into other methods, same with really old seeds i roll up some sand paper and tape both ends and shake them old seeds all around, scars the shell and they crack better, some folk even bite the seed with there teeth

Im still trying hydro as of right now so any help would be great. Like how do i put the plant and its roots in the rock wool correctly because I think that was one of my issuses with the larger plant. And do i lower the water levels over time. Sorry iv got lots of questions. I just have to be in a more clear mind set

Put 2-3" of hydroton into the net pot first then place your rockwool cube and fill the rest of the way.

The water line should be 1" below the net pot so that the bubbles breaking the surface splash the bottom of the net pot. For the first week you can dump 1 cup of nutrient solution a day from the top just to aid the plants until the roots hit the water. Once the roots hit the water stop top feeding and pour a few cups of RO/Distilled with hydrogaurd. Tap is fine if not using hydrogaurd.

After 2 weeks you can lower the water to 2-3" below the net pot and keep it there the rest of the grow.

For the first week you want about 100-150ppm of feed. And 5000 lumen for light. You can download "light meter" by my mobile tools dev to check this on an android phone.

Water temps ideally 68-70

Air temps depend on the lighting used. I'm going to assume LED. So about 80f

RH about 60-65% this is important as it will reduce the demands on the roots until they are established.

Do not point any circulation fans directly at the seedlings.

Are you running sterile or live? Meaning bleach/hydrogen peroxide or beneficial bacteria?

What lighting are you using?

What water are you using? RO, tap water etc.

What nutrients are you using?

Let's start with that and go from there.

For hydro I prefer using jiffy pellets. I microwave then on high for 45 sec each before soaking to kill and eggs that may have been in it.

I soak my seeds for 16-18 hrs whether they pop or not then use the paper towel method. After they have about a 3/4" tap root I plant them tap root down and make sure to press the jiffy pellets and fill in the hole where the seed went.

I find in 10 days they are ready to go into the system and have a good little root system. I place them in net pots as I described.

The benefit I see to jiffys is they are an ideal substrate for bacteria an I seed them with hydrogaurd (beneficial bacteria) to prevent and root rot.

First off thank you. If needed exactly this like a step by step you know. Sobim going to take the one plant i have in hydro and give it a fresh rock wool block then ill start with lowering the water levels and such. Holy crap thanks though.

Okay thats a pretty good idea. Now when you transfer the 10 day old plant from jiffy pot to rock wool how do you place the roots in it.
