My autos are 30 days old today. Both growing in FFOF and an auto flower super soil. Mimosa Orange Punch on left and Skywalker OG on right. This is my first growing attempt. I believe everything is looking good but my lady Sky is much shorter. Any ideas why? Look like pre flowering also by pics I’ve seen online

Honestly they both look healthy to me. That Skywalker plant might just be a destined to be a bit on the small side from genetics.

I cannot make out 100% from the wide shot, but it looks like you're fully into flower not just pre-flower. It looks like you've got plenty of pistols showing at the end of all the branches I'd say closer to like week 1 or 2 of flower if I had to guess.

Genetics is a lot of it. Different varieties grow differently. When you're running from seed, even different genotypes from the same variety run differently.

I bet they're gonna be tasty!

I'm seeing that brown tip, some brown edges that don't look like light burn and what looks like the beginning of a calcium lockout happening there. If you're adding fertilizer you might want to back off, and if soil pH is below 6.0 you might want to raise it a little to get it in the 6.0-6.2 range for calcium availability. In other words, it's growing like a typical cannabis plant, lol.

There will be big stretch period when they grow quickly. From my experience weeks 5-7 is when you see it.

Indica leaning strains will have shorter plants while sativas will be taller.

Autoflowering are crossed with ruderalis hemp, they will both be dwarves, nowhere near sativa size or most indicas.

I understand that pure landrace sativa & indica strains would be much taller than autoflowers that are based on short height ruderalis. That doesn't change the fact that autoflowers go through big stretch and grow upto 50% between weeks 5-7. What I was implying to OP is that short plant (20 inches) at 4 weeks still can stretch to be taller (30 inches) by week 7. I never implied that 20 inch plant would magically stretch to 60 inches.

It doesn't have to pure or landrace, even modern polyhybrids can be grown very large if you want. With autoflowering you get what you get, no control. I understand what you mean though about early flower stretch. Every plant will be unique, I plan for it to triple in size and it has kept everything nice. Not all do that, some do. Some double in size, but if you plan for triple and get double, its way better than trying to raise a roof counting on double and getting triple.
