High All!
I’ve done my first grow experimenting with Photos from seeds I got out of a bag of hybrid weed 🤦‍♂️ I wasn’t expecting much and certainly wasn’t investing in expensive seeds until I learned everything from scratch. (I enjoy the grow)
I did my homework on how to grow and sex the plants etc.
I’m now ready to harvest after nearly 6 months seed to flower to cutting.
I have a VIVOSUN tent with smart grow hub, however the Smart Hub doesn’t work with my 5G network so I did my grow using the Manual cycle which worked well.
My question is, how do I turn off the Aerolight and still use the Grow Hub and Exhaust fan so that I can maintain a near 60 RH/60 temp?
Any advice is appreciated

Most automation devices won't work with 5GHz. They don't need the speed and prefer the better range and reliability of the 2.4GHz network. Can you activate the 2.4GHz channel on your router?

If all else fails, unplug it. Usually, just turning the dimmer down all the way powers off the light. Your controller also should have an offsetting.

No I can’t switch it to 2.4ghz because it would render everything else I have hooked up to it to be useless, plus the speed sucks which is why I switched to 5G.
I dimmed the light but it won’t shut off completely, and the the lowest cycle setting for the light to be off is 23 hrs 50min.
Which means every 23:50 the lights come back on for 10 minutes to that lower dim light setting.
unplugging the system doesn’t allow me to use the exhaust fan along with using the grow hub monitor which would help me monitor the Dry.

Sorry if this is not applicable to your wi fi but I had to split mine (5 and 2.4) but it was possible by getting into the router settings. I changed the setting just enough to for my ACI to pick up the 2.4 but keep the 5 for everything else.

I appreciate your response but I’m not looking to use the WiFi.
The controller for the Grow doesn’t require the use of the app which is nice too.
I’m just trying to cut the light off and still use the duct exhaust fan and also use the Grow Hub controller. I’ve already completed the grow without the WiFi.

Problem with this VIVOSUN tent is that the controller is powered through the Aerolight.
If I unplug the chord to the light then the light goes to extremely bright light instead of off.
Just frustrating because I’ve invested a lot of time in transitioning the plants while keeping the terpenes.
I was hoping this “Dry” would be simple with this tent since Almost everything else has been manageable and successful.

i read the thread thinking i might be able to help. All i know i am so glad i dont bother with all these connectivity shit stream of things. I like dials and buttons f ck off with your apps. just another point of faillure lol. Like that exaust fan with a wifi or bluetooth connected dial so you can place it ouside the grow room. Why would I care its a set it and forget it setting I dont need around the clock acces to it.

dont mind me, just an ex IT pro who loves gardening because its low tech and needs to vend that everything they are selling is CONNECTED.

I hear ya, I'm an old school pen and paper guy myself..

I have the vivosun aero lights and controller and fucking hate it. The thing would pick up on my neighbors wifi and get all crazy on me. Couldnt figure out how to shut the built in fan off, had to put tape over it, lol.. Been sitting in a closet after the 1st grow, no thanks..

OP, sorry I got nothing helpful to add..

I figured it out, I held down the Aerolight button on the screen then hit the check mark to lock it in Manual mode and then set the light to permanent off.
So now the only thing running on a cycle is the exhaust, along with the RH and Temp guage.
Yea these electronics are something new to learn.
no worries, all comments help someone looking on these threads.

You can use the whole system without the WiFi and App.
You can program your settings on the Grow Hub Monitor from seed, to veg to flower. You just have to make your lighting and other adjustments as your plants evolve.
I figured out how to set the lights to permanent off and still keep the other accessories on I need to monitor the Dry phase.
One thing about growing indoors and outdoors for that matter is patience.
I went through a lot with this but wasn’t expecting serious results. I smoke it maybe a dozen times a year, I just enjoy the learning curve more as a hobby.
Thanks for your reply anyway.
Cheers!

My wife doesn’t help with any of that shit so you have a good woman there.
Mine just complains about this dank smell coming outta the tent.
I figured these tents and carbon filters would eliminate the smell but nope.

Does the Vivosun controller connect to Vivosun equipment through wireless signal only? There's no cables you have to connect from the equipment to the controller?

Just curious.

Oh ok, the picture on their website made me think differently for some reason.

I use AC Infinity myself, I guess now that I think about it I've seen it mentioned Vivosun uses a USB-C style cables as well for some of their equipment. We all have out moments I guess lol.

It shouldn't matter how any device connects to a router if they are in the same IP address range. Most use IPv4 addresses beginning with 192.168 for the inside network. Those are non-routable addresses. The router is the gateway to other networks. The two WiFi channels of a router and the wired (Ethernet) connections are not separate networks. They're only different hardware layers. The connection speed does not determine whether devices can connect.

When I connect to Wifi on a new device, I have a 5G Wifi network and a 2.4GHz Network that are listed separately that can even have different passwords, I just click on the network I want to use and enter the password. I don't have to go into router settings and switch it to one or the other, both are always available and work independently. It's been like this since the day I got it, thought maybe that's how they all are now, guess not.
