Hi I'm new here, I've grown in soil for 3 years and just switched to coco. I'm using canna natural coco, I'm using advanced nutrients sensi ph perfect grow a + b, with piranha. Currently around 3 weeks in veg with an e.c of 1.0 I'm not checking ph as the nutes should help with that. I'm feeding every 2 days as the medium not drying out that fast at the minute.

How often should I be feeding in coco ? What's the best way to feed ?

Using 12 litre pots roughly 3 US gallon

Can you expect a little more yield to?

I appear to have a magnesium defeincy what's the best to solution for that? Cal mag ? Does Epsom salts affect ph or ec?

Thanks

Hello And welcome to the forum.
I see all kinds of guys in the forum that buy pre mixed coco with Calcium problems.
Unfortunately company's selling Coco are in the business of selling Coco, not doing a real good job of buffering said Coco.
So no matter how you slice it. It's important that you wash and buffer your own Coco.

Pop over to Coco for Cannabis and study a bit.
Then come back here, there are a lot of great guys in this forum that grow in Coco and you will make some new friends.
Please watch this video.

Canna coco is extremely well rinsed and buffered. What is your source water?
Hi I'm using tap water and my magnesium is 2.5ppm a ratio of 130:1 . My water is really hard so it's defiantly that. As I'm using ph perfect to avoid ph'ing the water. I didn't know if Epsom salts would cause ec or ph problems. I only ever had a problem once with one plant in soil due to my water. But they all seem like they need a kick of magnesium.

Feed everyday. 1 or 2 times a day depending on how much you feed.

Yes usually more yield not a ton more though. A bit faster as well. Just add more calmag to your feed.

Thanks for the reply, I'm using ph perfect grow an and b and piranha by advanced. I don't have any cal mag as of yet. I have cal mag in a different brand that can be used in coco/soil would that matter. I have never mixed nutrient brands before so pretty clueless about that. I will grab a bottle of calmag just won't be here for couple days.

So you're at 1.0ec altogether? Tap+fertilizer? I think the advanced bases call for 4ml/liter, which is pretty aggressive and not at all what I would recommend at this stage in their life, but I'm guessing you're mixing a much milder formula.

Brands don't matter. The ingredients that make up the blend is what matters just look at the back sticker. You have % of elements contained in the bottle. Calcium and magnesium.

Hi I'm coming across a few problems a little later down the line. Any suggestions?

Could the brown patches on big leaves be calcium deficiency or light intensity ( I have turned down lighting just in case)

And over the plants there different shades of Green on the same leaves.

Also my tap water when using ec pen is 0.6 Say I wanted to get it to 1.4 would I add 0.8 of nutes to get it to 1.4 or

add the 0.6 to 1.4 of nutes to make 2.0

It is a little cold in there atm have got 2 tubes heaters in there temps lights off are 18c or above and lights on about 25c

Coco holds water pretty well but the reason for watering at least once a day with approx 20% runoff is that nutes are 'used up' for lack of a better term by the Coco...keeping a consistent watering 1-2times a day is really recharging the nutes for optimal update
