Hey, Im new to this site in paticular and I plan on doing my first grow really soon..

My line up of nutes are as follow..

AV B-52 (full time)
FF Grow Big (veg)
AV Bud blood (pre flower)
AV Big Bud (flower)

Do these nutrients in the order sound ok? Another question do I need bud blood and will it make any difference if I dont?

Im also running an ebb and flow system and im on a somewhat frugal budjet and was curious if litmus paper is suitable for testing my res pH? Should I also be worried about the pH of my soil if the res's pH is fine?

Last question I promise, when EXACTLY should I begin flushing my plants?

Cannot comment on the nutes, never used any but the grow big. GH offers a kit for ph that works great for me. Fill the vial half full w/ water and add 2-3 drops of the test liquid and that's it. Adjust from there. A lot cheaper than the hand held Hanna's and what not. Works similar to test strips, but it's easier though.

Don't cross the streams.....

IMHO-
my rule of thumb has always been to NOT mix nutes from different companies to make up a solo 1-2-3 type formula.

The companies use different formulas and breakdowns in their Grow and Flower mixes and your plants may be missing out on crucial micro-nutrients in the switcheroo.

If your going with AV go with them all the way. Or FF.

This does not apply to supplemental additives like cal-mag or a bud booster in flower. Just the main formulas.

buy a multi ph, ppm meter and never worry again. They have cheap ones for $75 nowadays.

I didn't want to create a new thread, but my question is if im using a drip system and have a reservoir with my plants in soil, do I use liquid nutes or soluble ones?
