Heya C I’m sad that your grow went south on you this year has been a tough go. I know you will be here next year with both barrels loaded. I’m hoping that I can get more of the struggling ones off and get the rest of them through this rain that’s coming. It’s now a race against the septoria. I’m actually kinda happy that they’re not huge plants but still lots to do take care C
Thanks Rooke, it has been quite a year for me. And yes I'll be here doing it all over again. What do they say, 'glutton for punishment"?
And I really appreciate the kinds words and encouragement from you and everyone else too.

Your grow has had it's own ups and downs, more ups thank goodness. It's just these last few weeks that are the hardest.
And about the septoria. I sprayed H2O2 and Grower's Ally fungicide many times without seeing any slowing of the creeping crud.
Good luck.

I sprayed the neem oil and slowed it down a lot. Ive been able to leave her grow. It's now 40s at night so how much more she will grow is doubtful. Im posting a few pics. I think she's pretty much ready. But always doubt myself.

I gave them all the tender loving care I could, but the weather created perfect conditions for the diseases to take over.
There were a few buds worth harvesting after I cut them down, but not enough for my use so I left them.
I'm watching your Freaks, so pretty. Makes me want to try them.

So, I've got a plan, just don't know if I have the energy to follow through.
I'm digging out half the crap dirt and adding used potting soil, mixing thoroughly. The crap dirt still has disease in it but if I can lighten it up and douse everything regularly with fungicide, maybe it'll work.
This super soil hubby bought is sooooo hard I can't break it with my hands and it sounds like a rock when I throw it in the cart. Geesch.
It's either that, or dig it all out and start again. (not gonna happen)
Another idea is to use the 20 gallon fabric pots I bought years ago and put them on top of the dirt. Well, I've got all winter to mull that over.

Hmm either idea is good i think. 20gal is plenty for a good sized 6-8ft plant i think. Sure may need more waterings but heck you got so much rain this year who knows? That shit dirt man should not be like rock, what the heck did that guy sell you folks? Sure isn't good garden soil.

I know hubby is sorry, but I had to show him that good dirt is loose, friable and this stuff just isn't.
It's probably meant for lawns or fill. Don't know, dont care. Just have to do something.
The thing with the 20 gallon pots is... It's going to cost a bundle to fill 12 of them.

Then again, the govt. is sending me retirement money every month...... 😉

If you’re sure it was pythium or fusarium I think you’re asking for trouble reusing that dirt! Even if you do, go to extra mile with fungicide!😁 I just wouldn’t put all of my eggs in that basket! Maybe a few. A 20 gallon pot holds about 2 1/2 ft.³ approximately! So yeah, will be expensive! Check from the government? Since when did you ever work a real job?😂😘

I tried, I really did! I got >I I< this close then the pandemic hit and got laid off. So, I'm mouching off hubby's as spousal. Shoulda done it when I turned 62, but thought I'd be able to collect on my own earnings. Oh, well.

And I'm pretty sure it's Verticillium. It usually shows up later in the year, but we had lots more rain than usual, so it florished in the ground and didn't show until the plants started flowering.
While the plants were vegging they outgrew the disease, the roots kept growing and overcame whatever damage the disease inflicted. However, once the roots slowed growing new ones and the plants focused on flowering, they became vulnerable. This has happened in the past and I've lost plants the same way but didn't narrow down the reason until this year.
