ph of run off got me confused ,help please

one of my strains hear caught my eye it seems to be starting to lock out nuts ,so what i did is ran a bunch of ph run off tests on the different strains and the different readings are confusing me~

~note the medium is a homemade peat moss and perlite mix witch of course is acidic ,first off i ran my solution at a ph of 6.5 and tested the run off witch was in the low 5 range so i brought my solution up to 7.1 and ran the tests

~hear is the lay out of the test ,the are 3 strains 4 of one and 3 each of 2 other strains i tested

solution ph 7.1 run off ~flowed
strain #1---- 1----- 4.1----slow
-------------- 2------4.6---- slow
-------------- 3------4.6-----slow
------------- 4 ------4.9----- slow
strain #2----1-------6.5 ------fast
--------------2 -------5.2------so so
------------- 3 -------6.2-------fast
strain #3----1-------6.2------fast
--------------2------- 6.6-------fast
--------------3------- 6.4------fast
i would like to note that the plants in the 4 range are about 3 1/2 weeks old and the rest in the 5 and 6 range are a week younger!
this has got me wondering what the solutions ph should be ,im mean ya if the run off takes longer to come out ,like it shows ,it should be bringing more acidity with it but where is the balance point ?the guys at my shop said 6.5 ,but the run off was 5.2 on the tested at 6.5

im confused please help me?

Do a 3x container flush, then pH what you put in.

Why not 3x container flush, then pH what goes in afterward?
