PH strip reading - basic question

I have these ph strips. The instructions say “read immediately”. The word “immediately” is in bold.

When I’m looking at them after dipping into a solution they rapidly darken over about 7-10 seconds. Do I read them in that first second or two/three or is the value after say 7-10 seconds more accurate?

Not sure what precisely “read immediately” means.

After 10 seconds is fine... you don't want them sitting around for a half hour though. Within the 1st minute should be fine unless you see a color change that keeps happening over a minute, although most readings should be quickly accurate within the first few minutes.
