Anyone have experience with using Lux readings with LEDs? I’ve been having issues that look like light stress, but according to the Photone app I’m only at 30,000 Lux. I’m 6 weeks of flower tomorrow and 30,000 Lux seems to be stressing them. 2 plants under different lights but both around 30,000 Lux @ 6 weeks flower

Plant 1. Cupped leaves, yellowing, fox tailed bud.

Plant 2 Losing color in bud leaves, veins still green.

My plants are 5 weeks in veg. Anything over 20000 lux begins stressing them. LEDs can be strong.

Thanks that makes me feel better. I thought I was going crazy, trying to keep them going a couple more weeks. Do you turn the light up during the last week or 2 or just keep it under 20,000?

My LSD girl is the same age. One meter shows 37k lux the other says 59k lux. Which one is right? idk but the light is where it needs to be.

Are you using a defuser on your phone? I’m trying to use this app as well. Why not use DLI for your reading or ppfd?

What numbers are you looking for with each reading or is it depending on what stage you in? I really want to learn how to dial my light in.
When I measured this morning I was 20,000 lux, I believe DLI was like 23 ona 18hr cycle, and ppfd was 380. I’ll be posting pics of plants in morning with my weekly journal update.

It’s different for each stage. The app probably isn’t accurate but I think it’s close enough to get an idea. But no sense after seeing what 30,000 lux is doing when the entire internet world says 50,000-80,000. So much misinformation out there. Funny how something as simple as growing cannabis seems to all be trial and error. Nobody can ever come up with straight answers.

Ohhhh....you’re plants are 5 weeks from sprout. 20,000 seems right. I’m 6 weeks into flower and getting light stress from 30,000

I’ll share a pic now. Here they are at 5 1/2 weeks. Nice flat leaves. They are under an HLG Scorpion Rspec light.

You can’t check PH with the nutes I’m using, but it’s between 5.8-6.2 according to the shady characters that created it. Not sure if PPM can be checked either, due to the buffer. But doesn’t that look exactly what light stress is?

You have to do so much research just to find no consensus lol I will say each meter will read different but I’m good using the app to at least give me readings to work with. I’m trying to keep the 2 lights I’m running pretty close in numbers from the app.

The trick is to learn the light without using the meter. Once the distance is right, then see what the meter says if you want. Every meter is so different you cant go by someone else's recommendations. I'm glad my lights don't have a dimmer... Sounds too confusing for me.
