Hi!,
I am trying to find out more about trimming fan leaves as well!
One school of thought is to remove only yellow or damaged leaves, as any open wounds on the plant is an opportunity for fungus and other infections.
Please let me know if you find other info on trimming.

Ive heard pluck late and personally i think big fans help the plant thrive thru veg and acts as a buffer

Take any fan leaves off that don’t get light that are on the lower branches. I recommend using pliers. They’re glued on there pretty good.

I take the whole fan but see a lot of photos where they must leave the single long middle finger.

There is a 20 page thread on this exact thing. The answer is...... up 2 you and your setup. Try it out and fig it out. There isn't a definitive answer for your setup and strains. Have to use trial and error see what works best for you. But also to add scissors are prob what you want to use if you do decide to do it.

I use clean fingernails to pinch off the petiole. They heal a bit faster with a pinch vs a cut, but you need to have clean hands. Scissors are fine too. I guess lol.
