All male? I get about 70/30 female to male. Winter grow I had 3 males to 14 fems. WTH?

You need more you just holler!

Got a bunch of purple buds on that winter grow, puffing now.

2 Week Update

A lot happens in 2 weeks. After 6 days of heavy rain we've had a week plus of warm and sunny summer weather. 90F today.

Granddaddy Purple planted Oct 25, 1 gal fiber pot, coco w/ MasterBlend nutes 2-4 x's a day. Grew in greenhouse w/ supplemental LED lighting for a 16/8 light cycle for 4 1/2 months. Topped to 12 colas. Flipped March 15th. 3 weeks to go. I trimmed her up today and the smell was wonderful, very grapey. I've been tempted to clip a bud or two ever since.

The little greenhouse is full.

Tea bucket, 3 Ground Pounders, 2 Darth Vaders, a gopher in coco and 3 in Kratky, and 2 GDP clones from mama above both topped once so far. All planted Feb 24th and may flower in July like last year. Moved off my main tray a week ago and filled the tray right back up

26 tomatoes, 3 GDP's, 3 Ground Pounders and 5 gophers needing a home. The weak clones are also GDP's and I made a bubble cloner. And check this one out in a Kratky bottle.

Growing well.

4/20 I planted 5 Lemon Skunk, 5 Citrol Sledgehammer and 12 autos.

4/25 I planted 6 gophers F2 to cross with the F4's, 7 Big Pipes (Big Bud I assume) and 1 GSC bag seed from Moon Rocks 3 yrs ago.

Last of the summer planting will be May 25th with June/July plantings for this years winter grow. End of Aug last year was a bit too late. While I did get purple gopher buds this spring with the cold weather and short days they produced small buds. No worries, it smokes good but I just don't need the extra work and wait. By Oct I should have a garage full of hanging plants and Christmas plants to take their place then I can take a couple months off. I do hope to have a few buckets running by then and will keep a couple moms.

Until next time, Happy Growing!

Friday Update

The wait continues

I'd say another 2-3 weeks but haven't seen any seeds developed so I dusted half of the plant with pollen so now I'll have to give her another 3+ weeks. Gotta get seeds off this girl.

2 GDP clones

These were taken first week of Feb and took about a month to root in the cold. One on the left took a little longer but is making up for lost time.

The Ground Pounders are killin it

Two in front and the large one behind them. I assume the large one

is a male. 2 months old

Darth Vaders

with a gopher in the left back corner taking the brunt of the slug attacks.

I've been killing several each morning and using a bait. Bastards.

They love this Kracky gopher

It's a runt so no big deal. Had planned to discard anyway.

Tomatoes

Holy sheet Batman! Look at my last post and see how much they've grown in 5 days. Amazing.

For decades I grew in the ground and in pots of soil, even though I hate growing in pots but since discovering coco and hydro nutes it's difficult to plant anything in dirt. I've been counting and laying out my 1 & 2 gal pots, purchased another 12 8qt bags of coco (I still need another 10+ bags) and will be ordering more MasterBlend in the next couple weeks.

Spring this year, well for the past 2 weeks, has been sunny, warm and dry. Greenhouses are getting way to warm and will have to be opened up or only used to pop seeds. Speaking of which I believe I fried my 4-20 planting. Out of 22 seeds only one popped. I have a reptile hot rock for warmth under my seedling tray and it ran for 2 or 3 days after the weather changed and must have reached 100F plus. Lost a dozen autos, 5 Lemon Skunk (that hurt) and 4 Citrol Sledgehammers, 1 popped. Nice seedling so there's that but losing the skunk sucks. Like I always say, could be worse, could be raining...

Took an ounce of purple gopher, dried and cured with sugar leaves attached and made 200 coconut caps, 3 oz of alcohol tincture and 2 oz of vegetable glycerin tincture. The VG is for a friend, I don't like that sweet taste. Caps came out perfect. A nice daytime med or take 2 for a 5 hr highand my Golden Dragon is always good.

Gotta chop weeds today, can't wait sucks but gotta get the garden ready.

Happy Growing!

Killed a few widows recently, black and brown. Got a few small orb wevers on most plants. Wish I could get a pic of my alligator lizard. At least a foot long. It was on my back porch the other day. Won't let me get close while the blue belly's are taking meal worms from my fingers. This one could take a chunk of a finger.

Spring...

I haven't even seen a snake in months but got plenty of bugs

Look at all those aphids. Had to spray that poor girl nightly for a week.
and a yound funnel web spider.

Sorry I am late still learning how things work however I have enjoyed thus far and got some much needed laughter out of SoCalPlummer2 and the other members carrying on with one another! I had a friend gift me a few cuts years ago of GDP however they were from MSNL and were a fem version so maybe the real deal maybe not but they were tall plants with massive purple colas taste like grape soda always said I was gonna get the reg form from Mr.Estes but just haven't gotten around to it yet! I wanted to share something with you for the aphids I sprinkle just plain cayenne pepper on my plants if I see them early in veg does the trick indoors or out as long as it stays on a few days before a heavy rain! Works well for anything really I just stop applying when the flip begins! Anyway take care and looking good!!!!

Yeah, those frickin aphids suck (pun intended). My gal is showing varying stages of purple even in this heat.

It's been hot now for 2 weeks. She's outside in a 1 gal fiber pot and needs watering 3+ times a day.

Buds are nice size

Loving the berry/grape smell and taste. Got to clip a few more lower branches.

Love GDP. LOVE!

Monday Update

Still sucks even when you're locked up at home. I guess it could be worse.

Tomatoes in coco

I can't believe this and it's in my greenhouse. 50 years of growing tomatoes and what is this? Never have I seen this amount of growth in so short of time. Speaking of which, remember when I said the little greenhouse was full?

Coco and hydro nutes. Amazing. 11 plants, 3 in Kratky 8 in 1 gal coco and growing like weeds.

Ground Pounder looking nice

The 5 gophers found homes

I knew they would. I was rootin' for 'em. My old tomato stand. Grew 5 Gophers there in coco this past winter. Maybe a scrog? Been threatening to do it. More work, we'll see.

That GDP has lured me into her web. In love.

Laying out the pots for tomatoes. 26 needing a home and want 50, although mixing nutes and watering 26 plants 3+ times a day might just be plenty. Who knows?

I'll be moving most out of the greenhouse with our current 14 1/2 hr days. I assume those started Feb 25th will flower in June/July, happened last year. The best GDP clone will return to the tray and may keep her as a mother and start a clipping or three in buckets, like weekly

Good stuff.

Happy Growing!

Wednesday Update

One plant, Granddaddy Purple. Seeds planted Oct 25, grown in 1 gal fiber pot of coco with MasterBlend nutes in a greenhouse with supplemental LED lighting for a 16/8 daily light period. Flipped March 15 and chopped down early this morning.

She was ready. Garage smells like heaven.

She's produced hundreds of seeds and I already have one of those seeds planted and popped.

On the 25th I'll plant another dozen plus for fall harvest.

I still have 2 nice clones

Although they and the others that were all packed together got WPM. Blasted with sulfur and will re-treat this weekend.

Tomatoes

MasterBlend has been difficult to come by as of late so while I await delivery (tomorrow after being told June 1) I've left them in their small pots as I don't have enough nutes for their larger pots. I have 160 qts of coco soaking in a strong cal/mag solution and will transplant them tonight, hopefully.

Been extremely busy working around the house the past couple months. Still have to repair/replace rain gutters, pound out cement and replace a 4 x 4 fence post, and there's still items on a honey do list. Shoot me please!

A lot more growing and I'll update those when/if I get a chance this week.

If this is retirement I'm never going to stop working!!!

Happy Growing!

My retirement didn't mean stop working to me. That's it I'm done , feet up resting in a rocking chair is my rest home / hospital plan. I don't always get up early but I seem to work longer. In 2 hr segments with a bowl or three in between segments of working around my home. I don't stop at this time of year until around 9pm after I put the girls to bed make sure they're all watered tucked in and in ready for dark.
With your farming skills it looks like you'll be up early dealing with your farm rather than off to the races into traffic and work work work until the day is done. I was made for this retirement life style of working when I want on what I want for as long as I want & wearing what I want or nothing at all. The pay sucks but the work and life style suits me just fine it will you to.GL

I've also tried to grow two sets of three gophers, and they all cropped up males. But I have little luck with a few different strains of photos. I'll try again before the end of the year.

Thursday midnight, making hash. Boil boil trial and trouble.

Frickin crazy. When I send out seeds they are the ones I would have planted, i.e. the biggest and healthiest looking. I'm getting about 70% fem. It kills me hearing this

Sucks. Got a sheet load of GDP's that will start going out in a few weeks. I'll be adding a batch of Gophers with 'em. I'd really like others to enjoy this gopher. Chemdog x Brutis OG cross and on F4. It's a nice balance of head and body. A strong daytime med. Unlike the couch lock and pain relief I crave like this GDP. I have a couple Darth Vaders growing, a heavy indica and 3 Ground Pounders, a boy and 2 girls so you of course know I'll have some F2 seeds

This GDP I'm Lovin' this strain. The taste alone rocks but the indica high is what I'm looking for, what I need to numb the lower back pain I live with but I like good tasting smoke. The grape/berry flavor is amazing. I've bought it before but it was never this good. An 8-9 week flower was also nice since the gopher takes 13+ weeks.

Keep trying 'em all, I'll never stop

Hi! I'm excited about trying again with the gopher for the aspects that you describe. Plus I'm starting to love growing seeds from people that I have met on the farm for a plethora of reasons. I'm excited about the future GDP also. I have two Double Black x Hyper Glue and two Hyper Cherry Pie started in hopes for a girl. Also a Wedding Cake (F), White Widow (F), Blacklight x Bubba, (F) & Booba (F). I'm putting four 3 week old plants out on the deck today to join the Blackberry OG CBD and the Alaskan Purple, which are both in flower. Cheers!

Not really an update Tuesday

Making hash again. 2 ounces of aphid infested bud. Removed all the fan leaves and left most of the sugar leaves.

When manicured it's a good smoke but I don't have that kind of time. These plants were badly attacked by aphids and scale so it's either manicure or run 'em through the hash bags.

From what I've seen the bags filter out the insects with the 73 micron always the best hash.

The 45 & 25 are mainly broken trichs and work well for hair straightener rosin. Made a small amount yesterday and still puffing it and I got my neighbor toasted earlier.

I haven't pressed it yet, just fill the pipe. I'll definitely be making more rosin.

Nice wad of hash.

I've got an ounce of the GDP manicured and jarred. Awesome smoke and will continue to improve. I've got a quarter in a tray and have been rolling and bonging. Great taste. Still have another 2/3's of the plant still hanging. This GDP will always have a spot in my garden. Always. Taste and high rocks.

I've got 2 Darth Vaders, 1 boy 1 girl

3 Ground Pounders, 1 boy 2 girls

and a Gopher (no pic) in the big greenhouse so all the girls will be pollinated. I'll move the boys out of the greenhouse tomorrow and then move the females next to them when ready. I'll cross the gopher with the Ground Pounder. Gopher Pounder? I have GDP pollen that I'll use to cross to the other female Ground Pounder. Purple Ground Pounder?

On Sunday I planted 12 GDP F2 seeds and still have 2 nice clones.

I popped 4 Big Pipes @PipeCarver that go into the ground tomorrow.

4 Chemgophers in 3 gal soil pots.

4 Gophers in Kratky bottles.

And a bunch of other stuff. 14 tomatoes in 1 & 2 gal coco pots so far. 12 to go.

No current pics but I warned you, this wasn't really an update just puffing and rambling, sorry.

I did have a run in with White Powdery Mildew with most plants. Sulfur did it in but they did lose some lower leaves (thanks @Dirtbag). Never had it before on weed but never grew so many plants cramped together before in a greenhouse, either.

I planted about 100 seeds Sunday morning from basil, Mexican sage, 4 types of peppers, dragon cucumbers and a bunch of bush beans, none of which will be grown in soil if I can help it. Coco or hydro. Kills me I've got 8 pot plants in soil. The difference in growth rates is ridicules.

MasterBlend is no longer available on Amazon. I bought out their last 3 pounds. There's a few online retailers who have some but getting harder to come by.

I've looked into other options but then I'd have to get an RO unit. Meh.

Work is starting to pick up which is good. I still have replacing rain gutters on my to do list and a new pool pump. Not to mention 3 bathtubs to cover, run electricity and a pump. If I could just clone myself...

Normally I'd say "Happy Growing" at this point but this isn't really an update.

Friday Update

Couple males

Ground Pounder up front and Darth Vader in back.

I'll move them 30' apart when I bring out their girls.

Ground Pounders

Vader

Looking forward to tasting these girls.

GDP clone in Kratky

So cute. Currently smoking her mom. I could take a dozen clones, if I had the room.

Tray is still full but now there's a few open spots in the big greenhouse so I'll move a few over.

There's 3 Ground Pounders, 3 GDP's from seed, 5 GDP clones, the one in the Kratky bottle and 4 in a bubble cloner with algae and 12 tomatoes I still need to move to larger pots and into the garden.

2 GDP clones in coco

A bit of June Gloom has descended on us in usually sunny so cal and is expected to hang around for the next week. Last year my Feb plantings flowered in June and this year is no different. Going to have a nice Aug harvest and then Oct and then Dec from my upcoming June planting. I'll add a few clones to the mix but mainly planting GDP's for Christmas.

Got to get moving. Water plants and head out to the F'ing Forest (Elfin Forest) and clear a drain then out to Ramona to check out some camp sites. Next week is booked solid and I'll be needing a few days away.

Until next time, Happy Growing!

I see I mucked up. The 2 Ground Pounder girls
Topped only once but at this point they'll be seed producers first, smoke second.

Gopher hash

Winter purple. Does the job.

GDP F2 have started

1 so far on day 5.

Purple basil in Kratky

Love this stuff.

Moved a bunch of plants off my tray.

Kinda feels naked.

All 26 tomatoes are in their pots. Shout out to SuperThrive. Always use it when transplanting and popping seeds. Good stuff.

Another one of those not real updates as there's more but I'm just too stoned to try and list and post any more pics. That's some good hash!
