Now that's plant porn!

Moved the snap peas off my tray

I need to add drain holes to the bottles so rain doesn't drown the plants and I still have several to string on the twine and then secure the bottles. Should look pretty cool once they fill the swing set.

The Kratky method is designed to set it up and forget it until the plant is ready to harvest. It works well for many smaller plants but I don't have near enough large containers so I use what I got and add nute water as needed. Growing outside I have to expect rain so the need for drain holes about a third way down.

It will be interesting watching these

I do want to get a few into buckets and move a couple to 3 liter bottles and flip in a month, for science and all.

The broccoli is growing well in 3 ltr bottles

5 of 6 have flowers.

The best lettuce growth is from Black Seed Simpson

A few days ago they were starting to wilt. They had used all the water so refilled and they're back to growing.

And this new red salad

I need to get these into bottles.

Harvested the toy choi again last night

Wife made Pho. There's new growth at the leaf nodes. I'll be growing several trays of these every winter.

This Ground Pounder is growing like a weed

Planting WEEK! I've got to get tomato and pepper seeds going so might as well plant more gophers. I did plant 3 for the upside down pot but it's time to start the summer plants.

It's been nice working on the yard and plants this past week but of course the uncertainty of the viruses spread puts a damper on things. I haven't left the house/yard in a week. I've got seeds I need to mail and worse I'm out of vodka.

Time to get work done. Mowded the yard and took down a tree yesterday and I need to cut it up. Moving and leveling pallets for bath tubes next to the big greenhouse is on my to do list.

I'm going to enjoy this mini retirement before it ends.

Happy Growing!
good job and cool pics bro(love GDP)>enjoy your vacation

Smoke Report - winter grow

Chemgopher OG - F4
IMG 20200324 164739

20200324 164416

Planted Aug 25, veg 2 months in small greenhouse with LED light extending day length to 16 hrs. 1 gal plastic pot, coco coir and Masterblend nutes 2-4 x's a day. Allowed 13+ weeks in flower as buds were very slow growing.

High is the same 'ol gopher, starting in the upper chest and working into the shoulders 5 seconds after a hit. I feel my eyes begin to squint a bit and a small smile. Same as always.

Taste. The gopher is evolving into its own. The underlying lemon/pine taste is gone and a cream flavor is behind the chem. Very nice and no coughing but it's losing that chem/diesel as well. Not near as strong.

Went inside and ate a huge spaghetti dinner and still feeling high. I'm well relaxed.

So overall a nice smoke and hard hitting high. Taste wise is different. I've become use to the chem/diesel flavor and missing some in this F4.

How much of these changes are due to the cold flowering conditions or genes not mixing as I'd like is anybody's guess.

I'll know more after this fall harvest and a full sun grow. I do have some F2 seeds and may grow a few to back cross hoping to strengthen that chem taste.

Overall I'd give this bud a 6 on a 1-10 scale. The high is very good but I really want more taste. If it wasn't for that creamy under tow I'd have only given it a 5.

He's grown into the ceiling of the greenhouse but so what? I certainly don't care as long as he keeps producing balls. She makes me drool.

Another 2 GDP seeds have popped

The Ground Pounder is still killin it
20200329 094322

Gotta be a male

The rest
20200329 094328

And the little clones
20200329 094331

Lost 6 so far. Stems started to rot. I knew it would be difficult with the cold so took a bunch. The rest look good for these conditions. Hope at least half root.

Been spending about an hour a day trimming and jarring.
20200329 101752

Hope to finish this one today. 2 more plants ready and 1 still drying. Lot of frickin work but the results are worth the effort.

I should be ready to make more hash by mid week. Now it's time to get hammered!

Just beautiful. Granddaddy Purples panted Oct 25, 1 gal fiber pots in coco w/ Masterblend nutes. Vegged in a small greenhouse with extra LED lights to extend the light period to 16 hours. Moved to a larger greenhouse Feb to flower.

2 clones of the GDP

These were taken before the move. One on the left seems to be struggling a bit while the other is finally growing.

The newer clones

10 of 17 taken, lost 6 so far. 1 looks like it won't make it but the rest are hanging in there.

No roots visible yet but noticed the water had evaporated below the basket so added more. I'm using 1/2 strength MB.

A couple more have popped and will get potted this week.

My current favorite experiment

Gophers started from seed in rockwool. I moved them into 2.5 liter bottles last week from 1 liter bottles.

20200403 164436

20200403 164011

2 had roots to the bottom of the bottles. Can I flower these in another month? Gonna find out.

Kratky basil is rocking

This years snap peas

Way easier than dirt farming.

I moved all into 2 liter bottles last week after cutting and then painting the bottles twice. We're expecting a lot of rain the next few days so I'll have to replace the nute water by next weekend. Still easier than growing in soil.

I've got 20 tomatoes, beefsteak mostly and a few rutgers. Was going to post a pic but already added the max per post. Next time. Until then, Happy Growing.

Easter Sunday Update

Time for him to come down and collect pollen. Great genetics; strong, fast growing, beautiful colors.

IMG 20200412 125539

Then I can thin her out and better control the aphids. She got sprayed a couple times yesterday and still a few this morning. I'll neem her if I have to which may ruin the taste (flipped 3 1/2 was ago) but producing hundreds of seeds is my main goal with this grow.

20200412 131609

Topped one of the GDP clones.

Potted 3 more
20200412 155359

And potted 3 more Ground Pounders
20200412 155308

20200412 131614

Tomatoes, before I run out of space again.

20200412 155330

Darth Vaders looking good.

All plants are doing well but I've run out of room on my tray. Time to move stuff around.

Until next time, Happy Growing!

Everything is looking wonderful! You are living the dream. I truly appreciate you sharing pictures of your stud. I don't feel like enough people appreciate the beauty of males in flower. I am fairly sure that you will end up with thousands of seeds, judging by the size of your lucky lady. I wish you well with your project! Positive vibes...

Have you tried making fem seeds with colloidal silver?
I haven't but thought about it. Amazon has it readily available. I like producing a few males a year and collecting fresh pollen and obviously making seeds. I'll have plenty for the next couple years of both and to share😉

This is a very strong line of GDP. Both those adults are in 1 gal fiber pots of coco and grew in this winter cold and she's just full of buds.

Agreed. Also good seeds are expensive and having hundreds you can start 50+ at a time and keep the best of the best. It's a huge advantage over having a 5 or even 10 pack of fems.

This male GDP is a rockstar. Over 5' tall 2' sq around in a 1 gal fiber pot of coco with beautiful color in the stems.

Almost every time I read about a male at the Farm someone is usually filling a curse jar. For the past 4 decades we've been told males bad, females good yet few seeds are produced this way.

On top of that I'll use the leaves to make an un-decarbed tincture for my wife. She doesn't enjoy the THC but understands the therapeutic aspects and would like to try it without the high. We'll see.

Male cannabis plants can be beautiful and fascinating and help create the next generation. I love 'em.
