I thought it was interesting. It can detect THC in your breath if you’ve smoked within the last 2 hours. I’d imagine it works the same for edibles.

I don’t know about detecting edibles. When you smoke you inhale through your lungs. So on exhale you’ll emit a small amount of active compounds. However if it’s ingested through your stomach this wouldn’t necessarily be the case. Would be interested to know the science behind it. I’m just taking a guess.

The machine detects THC's mere presence in the breath, but it cannot calculate the amount of THC consumed.

This would lead me to believe it has not crossed the point of being very useful. At least in court. They’d still have to take a blood test to determine the amount of active compound in your system. But it’s interesting.
