Super Window Grow

Purple Haze ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œโ˜ฎ๏ธ (UNITY)

I present to you The Saga of the Super Window!

March 7th-8th,2022

On the first day we see that I have three (3 gallon pots) all snuggled under the grow light that @Kerowacked suggested I buy on Amazon.

Up into this point I have been preparing my soil, getting my fertilizers and cleaning my house and preparing my grow space.

Quite a few weeks of preparation in fact.
Including purchasing the things that I needed like tools and gauges and whatnot.

It was quite a chore to put the grow lights up in the window and install the fan and the heater and put all of the reflective surfaces on the wood.

I decided to try something new and be creative and use the space that I had before me. ๐Ÿ›โ˜ฎ๏ธ

So here we are at the beginning of day one.๐Ÿ™

My seeds had been planted at about 8 am PST ON MARCH 8TH

DAY 3

My babies popped out of the soil!

It's actually getting close to day 4 at this point and so they definitely popped out between the 3rd and the 4th day.

Plenty of good organic compost in the soil.
Beneficial bacteria and fungi for the rhizosphere.

Perhaps a little bit too much vermiculite though, as I noticed that my soil does not drain as quickly as I hoped.

But I was a little bit concerned about the plant on the left, she definitely was a little hot when she came out and her shell was still on her body, so I eventually took some tweezers and gently pulled it off after spraying it with some water.

As everyone knows this is a crucial time for your seedlings.

One of the seedlings had a funny face!

I felt like it was magic. โœจโœจโœจ

...Day 6!

Almost a week old now.

The little seedling that could over on the left is definitely showing signs of improving her life.

At this point now I have the power to 25% of capacity on my grow lights however I still don't have a very good temperatures as the night time sees about 67ยฐ and the daytime sees about 74.

With the aluminum Auto shades on the window it wasn't quite enough to keep a good seal, even though the reflectivity of the material definitely helped.

I also was having problems with humidity and I at this point looked into buying something on Amazon to miss my plants to keep the humidity levels between 60 and 75%.

I also have at this point updated my timers to three Wi-Fi digital timers that could be changed from any place that I go.

...Fast Forward to day 11

I've got my temperatures a little better and now my light strength is at about 30%
Been giving them pHed water with lemon juice (citric acid) plus a some trace amounts of Kelp and micronutrients with every watering.

They were looking really good at this point!

A little Powdery Mildew, so treated with Garden Safe Fungicide in the soil as well as Potassium Insecticidal Soap and a few drops of Rosemary Oil, Peppermint, Spearmint.

Also was still treating the rest of my plants for fungus gnats in the house.

Starting to get things under control.

Day 13

An unfortunate turn of events.

I made the unfortunate Mistake of feeding my seedlings Evian Mineral Water.

I also believe I was over watering my plants.

I tried to correct this problem right away, letting the soil dry out and immediately flushing with just plain water.

I trimmed the bunt edges off.

You can see that they have become more yellow too.

Definitely was a bad idea.

...Day 15

Made some significant changes to my grow space!

I added a plastic ZIP Wall, installed a shelf for my heater, increased light energy to 40%

Now getting stable temperatures.

Night time 72ยฐ Day 81ยฐ

Although it did get up to 83.5 once and that was rather hot for one day.

Adjusted my heater and hopefully more consistent now.

Humidity levels looking great 70% average with my "Mister".

Now I have the reflective Auto shades on top of the plastic. They are attached with velcro to the wall so they can be easily removed to get to the zipper to open the door and water my plants and look after them when needed.

I'm really impressed with the zip door.

For just being a piece of plastic with a zipper and attached to the wall with double-sided tape, it makes quite the difference.

It's still not a complete seal, but that's a good thing because I still get plenty of air flow down below where the root system is.

But the wonderful thing now is my room isn't hot. Now my plants can stay between 72 and 80 and I can be at the temperature that I need to be at depending on the day. โ˜ฎโ˜ฎโ˜ฎ

Day 16...

looking kinda GRIM

As I mentioned before, I Made the unfortunate Mistake of adding Evian Mineral Water to my plants.:wall::sad::dunce:

They experienced improper pH and nutrition burn overnight.

In addition, the umol/par light levels were too high. So I've made adjustments, stopped watering them and letting them dry out.

They look very weak now, stems are buckling a little and plenty of yellow and burnt edges.

Definitely a lesson learned here.

Will update in a few days with the recovery process

Day 30 Update...
My plants are struggling to hold on, while I continue the process of recovery.

At this stage I'm applying kelp and micronutrients, vitamins and root hormones in VERY small amounts.

I have a product that's designed to help in the aid of recovery when making a mistake.

I'm also am pHing my water to 6.35
Making sure my humidity levels are between 60 and 70% as these are technically still seedlings after 30 days.

The good news is there are signs of life.

I do believe that these plants can be saved.

I don't want to give up on my purple babies.

You see, my plan is to give away a lot of this marijuana once these all mature into adult plants.

I believe that purple is the color of unity and spirit and royalty and I want people to be able to experience a moment of Peace in their life during such a hard time as this.

I'll save some for myself to smoke and to make some edibles but I hope to be able to give a lot of this away because there aren't enough people giving free weed to those in need.

No I don't, have a proper grow room and I have very limited space but I'm going to work with what I got.

So well I've done now is I've also increased the microbe population.
I have made my soil healthier and more attractive to the beneficial fungi and bacteria better in my soil as well as more appropriate balanced conditions.

I believe they will make it. ๐Ÿ›

This is now my final grow space which I call a
" super window" .

I have the option of controlling my heater and my lights and my fan from my app in a remote location via Wi-Fi.

I can either have the window covered with reflective aluminum and also privacy as I put Auto shades with velcro at night time and during the day when I have company they can watch the process of my plants growing.

I think it makes for a really cool environment, especially the ambience.

Plants at that size donโ€™t need anything besides water. I think your over watering and them are not going to make it much longer at that rate. Roots need to be warm, 70 degrees +.
Actually I was underwatering them.

They've been extremely dry and thirsty lately.

The humidity has been 30% here in the city and we've experienced extremely hot days.

Yeah 15 days ago was the Evian water.

That had things in it that the plants weren't ready for.

And completely through everything off.

I was really doing really good until the Evian Water.

I have faith however that my plants WILL THRIVE. โ˜ฎ๏ธ๐Ÿ›

Large pots are hard to water properly for young plants/seeds. Can be done, but experience helps. I like to start with small pots.
I'm getting the hang of watering right now.

Lessons learned. ๐ŸŒŠ

Are those autos?
Watts on light?

Seedlings need water and well aerated soil, the smaller the container the easier it is to water correct. I use solo cups 16 oz and am trying some small peat pots that maybe 3-4 oz.

I apprecilove your vibe and have some beautiful Maroon Baboon teens. Want to donate 1 that you can use for your purple goals.

Evian water didn't hurt them, soil was most likely too hot to begin with. Then adding more nutes fried them. Start then in root riots or jiffy pellets, then into solo cups with soil designed for cannabis. FoxFarm will work but there are many that are better. They can live in the solo cups for a few weeks then into the bigger pots. It will be fun to watch this set up though. Good luck with everything

They are Photoperiods, from Growers Choice in California.

Good genetics, all germinated well

I'm using a Maglong Full Spectrum 2000W equivalent led grow light.

220 actual Watts, but running at 30% power right now.

This grow light is REALLY intense.

100% completely blinds me and engulfs the room/alleyway

Everything was fine.

I did a soil test kit and pH before I planted. I had the right environment and soil.

Good organic soil.

With Beneficial Bacteria and fungi

It didn't happen until the Evian water.

Please trust me. โ˜ฎ๏ธ

The pH of Evian it's 7.2 plus a whole bunch of things like chlorine, sodium, etc.

Just about any spring or mineral water is bad but usually not deadly this sure looks like a case of overloving new borns , def didnโ€™t need the food prolly what fried them ? But the light is prolly to intense at this stage as well

It was too intense at 40% but at 30% it's just fine.

They're starting to show more signs of life. ๐Ÿ’š
