I'm looking into setting up my first grow and am following/modifying a guide posted on thcfarmer from 2018(https://www.thcfarmer.com/threads/complete-diy-undercurrent-rdwc-instructions.98360/). In his setup he's running 12- 4 gallon square buckets. I was planning on getting a 5x5 ac infinity tent and running a 4 bucket Rdwc setup(4 plant buckets with a reservoir bucket.) I have been debating between 8 and 13 gallon ez stor buckets as those are the two sizes I can find in square buckets and wanted something larger than 4 gallons for more veg growth. I saw PA hydroponics home system is setup with the 13 gallons and the "mini" or whatever they call it uses 8 gallons. Basically my question is, is there a big advantage using 13 gallons vs 8 gallons?

To my understanding- The 13 gallon would give more room for root growth(idk if thats necessary) and the more liquid in your system, the more stable the ph will stay. Also will have to add water less often.

8-gallon is less water to deal with, but I wasn't sure if it would effect plant growth if the roots had less room.

Can anyone experienced with RDWC tell me if it makes a difference on 8 vs 13 gallon buckets and which they recommend? Thanks for your help!!

i grew in 10L and in 70L here are some differances i noticed
10L/70L
easier to notice nutrient level change/takes a lot of time to notice a change
ph swings faster/not as fast but not as slow as you would think.
plants usually drink around 1-2L soo one refils often other you can forget for a few days
if you have an airstone inside the small space will make the water move a lot soo you find often find broken roots inside.bigger pot you can move bubbles away from direct contact with roots.
10L i would fill full with roots 70L was almost full with roots but i had 2 plants there.
