So I've noticed in videos and images that people when adding a tea "bag" some suspend it at the top of the water and others just drop it in laying down in the bottom with the air stones.. why should I suspend it and why not?

I toss it in down with the air stones.. would suspending it have any benefits over letting it sink?

i hang mine,i dont want all that compost on the stones,it builds up enough just doing that,i bubble for 36 hrs and when i feed i always have to clean crude out,hanging the bag ,i think you get less matter in the bottom,i also use a submersible pump and its lees clogging
