Hello fellow gromies.

Im currently into my first "proper" grow start to finish, (done 2 prior along with someone else but we had different opinions and ideas etc so i cant class them as being just "me".

So, Im currently on day 28 of flower (i count flowering from first budlett after the stretch) but i flipped to 12/12 on April 14th.

I think its safe to say the budlets are forming nicely and the plants have been well looked after and have had NO deficiencies at all, maybe a slight bit of tip burn on top colas fan leaves due to ramping up nutes for the "Bulking" phase thats just around the corner.

My question is...is it safe to do some careful and methodical "super cropping" this late in flower?

My reasons are, a few of the main colas look like they are still reaching for the stars and im starting to run out of head room to keep elevating the light, as my extraction system and carbon filter is inside the tent too, plus everytime i increase the light distance the smaller bud sites aren't getting efficient light within the "perfect" range so i will end up with less dense and underdeveloped nugs. Plus ive also read that super cropping can increase strength of the colas and stems for heavy bud aswell as triggering a defence mechanism within the plant to produce more hormones and can make buds bigger and more potent.

Now i have super cropped before with somebody else in late veg but never done it in flower before.

The pheno type is pretty strong and stable, the strain im currently running is mimosa evo/orange punch from Barneys farm, Every time i top, or LST within 3-5days they've bounced back stronger than ever and haven't had a hermie or a sick plant yet "touch wood'. Im using the full Mills nutrients line with their Vitalize which is outstanding with helping recover from stress and disease.

Is super cropping practical, safe, and will it give me the results im after or is it far too late and risky?

Think next grow i will go for 2 scrog nets to help contain and balance out the canopy to prevent the "freak" colas from getting away from me.

Cheers in advance guys,

Peace out ✌️

Yeah i was thinking it will be ok....until it isnt hahaha. Just its physical "harm" and at this stage of flower they put all their energy into bud production and size. Im just worried that if i do it they might not fully recover and might have the opposite effect on overall quality and yield.

Cheers man 👍

Bend them over, pinch the stalk / stalks and bend at 90*, I do it all the time. I flatten my canopy by bending everything in the direction I want them to go.

I only do it if the get to close to the light. Why stress it if you don’t need to.
Yeah mate a couple of the main colas are still reaching for the roof so im sort of at a cross road with height as my scrubber and extraction system take up probably 1/6th of the top of the grow tent, then i need to have a decent distance between the top of the canopy and the light as the light i have is ridiculously powerful (Gavita 1700E). I haven't done them all, ive just done the tops of the large ones to bring them down to canopy level. Fingers crossed it all works out.
