His was an astonishing, refreshing act for a politician, really;
it was a slap in the face of our ignorant, draconian drug laws.

And he is a Republican, i'll have you all take note of.

Partisanship is an anachronism, and pure and utter horsehockey! That being said, I just left a message telling him that he's my new hero for having the courage to do the right thing even though it would be the harder, more unpopular way. I called him a true American. There is a number for his Colorado office, and I'm tempted to call that number also.
What the f___k is so hard about telling the frigging truth? They act as if they are afraid to broach the subject of legalization or decriminalization of marijuana for fear of being ostracized by the public. The biggest myth is that the Gov't says the MAJORITY believe that marijuana is a morally reprehensible thing. The reality is quite the opposite I believe. The politicians who would have the courage to stand up to adversity and say "enough already" would be incumbents for life. Sadly, enough money will slam shut the loudest of mouths.
