Do you fill out your scrog before you flip, or do you keep tucking through the preflower stretch?

  • Fill the scrog completely before flip then let them grow, either freely or into a second net.

I'm just about to try my first single plant scrog in my 4x4.

It's my understanding that the point of a scrog is to completely fill the screen throughout the stretch, so that all those little side buds that would make up one constituent cola instead grow upwards from the sideways branch and become their own small dense nugs. The cut I'm running probably grows to 1.5 - 2x the size during the stretch, so logic dictates I should flip when the screen is about half or two thirds full, then to keep tucking and weaving throughout the 2-3 weeks of stretch. However I've seen a lot of growers suggesting to completely fill out the screen before flipping.

What do you do?
