Yeah, roots dont like light. Just wrap a lightproof sleeve around them.Yeah I cut up water bottles and melted drainage holes through the plastic. I'll transplant them when they get bigger of course, what I like about clear pots is that I could more or less see root development.

Damn I never said I wasn’t listening, I was even going to start doing a wet/dry cycle. I just thought since the soil is absorbing water from below and that it’s loose it might not suffocate the roots but thanks for correcting me.I assure u you no mater how loose your soil is if it's kept permanently wet it will severely impact your harvest and probably kill your plants.thats coming from experience in growing in soil every single day for 15 years ,but if you think you know more than that on your first grow or two you crack on,just don't come crying with a thread entitled "why have my plants died" wen they do eventually die ,which they will if u don't heed the advice given.
