Hi thc farmer the wife and i are doing our first sog grow and we have our sites set on 2 strains that meet out medicinal needs. Northern lights #5 And Lavender, i have my mother room and my flower room as this is not my first grow i have had great results on my indoor and outdoor grows, i have a decent size room both rooms mother and flower are 11'x9' i am hoping on running 32 flowering plants and just two lst'd mothers i have a 120 site ez-cloner that i love and more than enough light. i am going to be running 2000 watts to the mothers and 2k to the flowers i have my ducting and venting... ie intake and exhaust. on my flowers i have the intelidrive 3.5 light mover with the 2 hoods with 2k watts..... one hps one mh. dont bash me on running both spectrums its a personal preference i have had good results in the past, as for the sog. i have always got my plants 6' + before flowering indoors, now i am going 12" to flower, any feedback good or bad is welcome, I am always open to others opinions

Lotta info here, but I think this post is to inquire as to what are the best strains to grow in a SOG.
While I don't have any personal experience with it, I think NL5 should be an alright strain for SOG. From what I know about Lavender, it may be a bit too lanky for your set up.
If your running 32 plants, you may want to consider single stalk plants:
Grapefruit Kush- Next Generation Seeds
Chocolate Chunk- THSeeds
The majority of strains from Paradise Seeds
Also Orange Bud from Dutch Passion and most any strain from Mandala Seeds are great for SOG.
There are many more, but these are some of my faves. Do some research on these and I'm sure you'll be able to find something DELICIOUS that will suit your needs.

Good Luck

You would have better luck running 3 lights over your flowering area with no light mover, and 1 light over your mothers with the light mover. Check this out I am sure it will give you plenty of inspiration. It is done in a 10 x 10 tent, but almost exactly the same square footage you have.

im a sog vet!!!! its all ive grew for a few years!!!! nl-5 if its real is perfecct i used 2 use a real nl-5 cut!!!! nl-5 flowers fast dosnt streach much and gets real bulky when flowered short!!!!!!!

your in ca so go 2 your dr and tell him you grow sog short plants and you need a 200 plant limit because you grow them so short that you need alot of plants 2 get any weight!!!!

in a room that big use 3 1000s not 2 and use all 3 hps unless you throw in a 400w mh on the light mover so all your plants get hps full time and mh will move above them that will work great!!!!! dont use a 1000w mh and a 1000w hps next 2 it!! use three 1000w hps lined up and than put a 400w or 1000w mh on the light rail, your plants will get the hps they need and the extra mh will give them alot extra!!!

once you get aproved for more plants by your doctor, use more than 36!!!!!!! if your hole room is 11x9 youll need some room 2 walk, if you use 3 1000s make your grow space 5x11, set the lights up in a line perfectly spaced over the 5x11 foot space, if you could put all 3 1000s on a light mover and move it forward you could extend your grow space to 6x11 and get more plants in!!! i would use between 45-60 nl-5 plants in the 5x11 space with three 1000s, the main thing 2 sog is gettn the hight and space perfect!!! when i grew nl-5 in sog i would put 45-60 nl5 plants on a 4x12 foot table with three 1000s,, nl-5 grows real short and bushy i would grow them 14-18 inchs tall than top them so all 7-12 tops were almost even, i would than throw them into flower in 3 gallon pots, i would yield no less than 2 oz per plant this way!!! about 5 weeks into flower my hole 4x12 foot space would be all tops with the perfect amount of space for light!!!!

the cut of lavender i grew was like purple kush it streached alot and was taller!! i would use the nl-5 for sure if your going 2 grow sog, if you got any questiions just pm me

It would be worth the extra work to change it. Don't expect miracles from a light mover, but you don't need your moms growing like crazy, and you have plenty room in your flower room. The blooming plants will love the extra light. I ended up switching all my HIDs into the bloom room, and vegging everything under T5s. I'm not sure this is optimal yet, but it's been working for a few months now.

BCSC'S NL #5, Sensi's Shiva shanti, and their Afghani #1 are very dependable if you find a nice mother , which should not be too hard

I have run SSh with great results, 5day veg and flip, I have also done bubba sog, with an 8day veg. Both yeilded awesome and the buds where basically all kolas. I think you can run anything SOG you just need to veg a couple days longer for some

thanks for all the input, i dont expect miracles from the mover, but from the 5 years i have had it i know my plants dont get the hot spots and they for the most part grow evenly with it. keep me posted on the t5's:boogie:
