We have made some tweaks for the embedded youtube videos

You should notice pages with many youtube videos load 60% faster now :)

Is that separate from the video uploads directly on the site or did you decide to go with YouTube videos instead?

I bet that thread with old tv shows prompted you to make the change. Embedding YouTube videos have always been a challenge for webmasters.
