Sugar leaves are showing weird colours

Hi everybody.
So this is my first indoor grow.
I planted them on 15th february and are 11-12 weeks from seed to harvest.
Alot of the fan leaves got yellow and died so I cut them off, I didn’t think much of it since this always happens in the late flowering stage. But now I see the sugar leaves are turning yellow on the tips in one plant and red at the other. I read somewhere that if sugar leaves start to wither there is a serious issue.

More info:
-Lsd auto and gorilla cookies auto
-Mars hydro ts1000 led growlight at the recommended 30cm like they said
-room temperature 26-20
-humidty 30%
-they got plagron alga grow and bloom but since 2 weeks ago I started giving only water

They are half the size they should have because I made a mistake with overwatering the seedlings while they were in way too big pots but so far they have been flowering quite nice.

The one in the front also has pretty short pistils and buds but I think that is just the genetics.

My question is. Does this seem problematic or is it just regular color changes that happen during late flowering? I have grown LSD auto before, it was outside and the fan leaves turned a little purple/red because of the cold in september. But never the sugar leaves.

They still look a little over watered even though the soil looks good and it's way too early for yellowing due to senescence. At that stage 2 weeks is a long time for only water. I think those earlier yellow fan leaves you took off were possibly a sign you missed and then stopping feeding them made it worse. Just a guess though, autos can act really weird.

But they should be done in 3 days if its exactly 12 weeks. I thought the last 2 weeks of the flowering fase was when the plant started taking the nutrients out of the big fan leaves?

Also, if I feed them some bloom nutes now wont the weed taste bad when smoked?

The plants are done when the plants are done. The time line is a guide.
Are you " flushing " with no nutes? In an organic grow this is not needed and I run bloom nutes to the end but do taper down, more for cost than a need.
Now problematic. Organic nutes take a while and you are close but still weeks away
Perhaps an ending with a chemical fert is in order. This would be readily available but you will need a plan for the amount. I do not do chemical ferts I am all organic like you.

You can't go by the breeder info you have to go with what the plant is telling you, especially if it had a slow start like you said.

Advertising shorter times start to finish is the secret sauce in marketing autos to new growers. Photo breeders do it too. People want fast.

Getting something smokable on your first indoor run with autos is still valuable experience and you've accomplished that.
Stick around here and ask a lot of questions and your next run will be even better.

Oh okay. I thought since they were autos it would always be in that 12 week range. But now that you mention it, in my first grow ive had 3 60day grapefruit autos. 2 of them took 70days and the last one had a mutation and went on longer than 3months even.

Well the issue is I dont have chemical ferts at the moment. Ive spent all of my budget on this setup and these 2 bottles of nutes. But if I understand correctly the organic bloom nutrients wont kick in in time to help?

This is the part that breeders don’t tell you like everyone above mentioned. Autos don’t have a long life span typically when compared to their photoperiod peers. When you make a mistake at almost any level with an auto there’s no time for recovery. Don’t base your harvest on the time frame that the breeders provide either because they’re all s***. The best way to see how close you are is to look at the trics with a jewelers loupe and make your decision based on that.

Yeah its just been hard to find a rhythm. Since I live in northwestern europe ive never had to water them much myself since it rains alot so I just let mother nature take care of them.
I think the one in the back will have 1-2 more weeks now if I go off my past experience outside.

Would it be a good decision to use photoperiod plants in my next run?
Since im inside now I can make them flower at any time?

Ive never tried them before because my climate isnt fit if you need to wait 4-5months untill the days become shorter

Well I feel betrayed by the webshop now lol.

Yes Ive been looking at the trichomes alot and the main cola of the bigger one is getting alot of trichomes that appear milky white from a distance but obviously the bud is not done yet.

Would you reccomend waiting untill the amber trichomes?
I want a good strong high with as much sedative effects as possible

Thanks for the quick advice guys
So my mistakes
-stopping nutes to early
-overwatering still
-relying on advice from a salesman

Is there a way to boost the plants a little without having to buy chemical fertiliser now?
My budget isnt big and I like to keep things organic as much as possible since I will be jamming it into my lungs.

I can’t help with organic but if you wait, others will chime in. This is a great place to learn organic growing. You can also start a separate thread to ask questions and get the creases ironed out before your next run.

Man I would hate to see your grow go south due to a $10 bag of nutes. At this point a bag of 4 4 4 at 25% rate Miracle grow from ace hardware would be better than trying to restart the biome.
Or do a dose of your organic nutes with nothing to loose.
Or let nature take it's course. The leafs will fade. Remove fans as needed but leave the bud leafs.
Dude it can get ugly but do not freak. When you trim the yellow and brown come off leaving you with smokeable buds and some trim.

But wouldnt the chemical nutes this late in flowering just cause more harm then good?
Im not an expert at all but it would really surprise me if these plants take longer than 2 weeks to be ready now. Im just scared of getting a bad taste since I am very interested at tasting the weed itself since all you can buy has been grown with PGR’s and other chemicals

I have recently learned differently. Even throwing jacks 321 at 25 % is not going to kill a biome that is not currently producing food for the plant. The bacteria go dormant until moist and dry and moist start back up. if even 100 freakin microbes are in your grow when they get damp and dry in a cycle they double every 20 minutes just like ecoli on a hamberger. it can take 7-10 days to reestablish and a temporary use of chemicals WITH A LIGHT FEED will not hurt the grow.
PH the water with nute additions.

good luck

What is jacks 321 at 25%?
And what do you mean with PH the water with nute additions?

Sure bro.
First Jacks is a nutrient company that a lot of growers use.
When I say 25% rate the nutrient has a mix ratio that would prolly smoke your plants if you added it. By mixing it at 25% of the instructions rate you make a weaker solution for your plants.
pH testing is used to ensure the chemicals do not change the pH of your soil. A natural organic grow media runs from 6-7 on the ph scale. Adjusting to within these limits ensures the nutrition can be picked up by the plants.
Hope this helps and I threw jacks out as an example. Jacks can be tricky for a new grower. I do not mean to suggest you buy jacks.

11 inches sounds like the light is pretty close! Might be adding to their stress! Just two cents! But since all of these indoor growers didn’t mention it, maybe it is a non-factor! Just chirping from the peanut gallery!😄🐒

I went to the nearest plant store and they only sold chemical nutes that were not meant for plants that you ingest. Since I will be smoking them I thought that would be the same.

Btw I was wondering:
Does it look like the light is too close?
The tips of the sugar leaves at the top are a little yellow as you can see but they are not folding and curling down yet.
Also some fan leaves are curling up at the tip while the tip is crispy.
Are these signs of nutrient deficiency, light too close or other environmental issues?
