Preset, and one that goes to 12, because 12 is higher than 11.

I like the smooth for a feeling of fine tuning. The suggestions of digital read out for both light level and wattage output would be useful but also add more components.

Not really. Just few more resistors on the board and maybe a capacitor or two.

I prefer smooth knob movement. A digital display of the power level would be wonderful. I like the idea of finding a level slightly below the point at which light stress begins.

I’d drop 6/2 and go back to 18/6 if it was a preset.

Like I said, you cover 18/6 built in I’d switch back. Convenience wins in this case.

Do you set a timer on a grow light?

Yes. I am currently using Alexa smart outlets to control my lights. I may switch to using the AC Infinity controller before my next grow, however. The Alexa outlets work well, so I don't have a compelling reason to switch.
